Fine Im going to get involved in this ridiculous argument. First we all have to agree that the United States and Canada are capitalist societies. Everyone agreed? Good. If you didn't your a moron and wrong. Now, capitalism is based off of the principle of competition. Competition in the market forces the price down and encourages sellers to make their product more desirable. Where am I going with this theoretical B.S.? Bill Gates may have been a smart business man in the past, but now he is nothing more than a corporate schlep making too much money. A smart businessman wouldn't have edged out all the competition like Gates did. Therefore by the very definition of a capitalist society, Gates is a horrible businessman because he opposes all that society is based on.

As for him giving to charity, well he gives small sums to charity yes, the bulk of his money isnt going to be donated to charity until after his death, or so he claims. Dont believe me? Look it up yourself.

Out of 40 billion dollars ($40 000 000 000) he gives about 2.5 billion to charity. So where does the other 37.5 go? No lifestyle requires that much money to support, and if it does, its wrong. If you dont see anything wrong with these numbers than you need to get your priorities checked. No one needs that much money. I could almost respect him if he gave about half of his annual earnings to charity, but he doesnt. He's being a cheap ass and you know it. Regardless of how much he gives, its still peanuts compared to what he makes. Just beacause it seems like a huge amount of money to us, doesnt mean he sees it the same way. He most likely does it for the tax breaks.

Ray Croc, the founder of McDonald's, is dead. I hate what his company has become (compared to what it used to be....though, I've really never liked it all. At least I used to like Microsoft). I don't hate Bill Gates; I hate his practices. More of a "hate the sin, but not the sinner" syndrome. I'm nobody's fan boy when it comes to commercial products--merely an informed consumer.

No reason to moan about a Mac? Go read my Mac post. All it talks about is how Mac is an ego boost to Jobs. While I don't give 1/2 of my money to charity, I do give a bare minimum of 10%. You'll note that I'm not doing so with any fanfare or saying who it goes to. I give because I do want to help people--not because I'm looking for good publicity. I believe in the spirit of the heart, not the legalities of the results.
