Seriously, you read the title right. If you have a Liteon 40X speed burner, you can "overclock" it to a 48X with a firmware upgrade:

I read some article the other day that claimed that overclocking stuff had a bad effect or something like that. I think they were just trying to prevent us from getting more for our money and stuff like that! STICK IT TO THE MAN!!
