EDIT:

Note that Sensaura is now owned by Creative. Thus, if you want a soundcard that doesn't make Creative any revenue........bust out your old Turtle Santa Cruz :(

As an aside, the PCI Express X-Fi Xtreme Audio is not a true X-Fi which is why it's cheaper. It's just an Audigy with specialized drivers. Thus, one can deduce that the mod works.
