Otherwise, they belong in a different forum.
There is an item for Trade. I did follow the guidelines.
Now that the forum is seeing a little more use, here are some general posting guidlines.
All started threads must include an item for trade. Please include the item in the subject of the post.
Once a trade is complete the thread will be locked and moved to the completed trades sub-forum.
Keep things civil, no threats, of any type.
If your trade thread has been around for a long time with no activity, you will be contacted to see if you still wish to have the trade posted.
No trades of property known or suspected to be stolen.
Trades which get off topic or which never see any real trading progess may be deleted.
Bid increments should be of atleast $0.25 unless the current bid for the item is less than $1(any increment > $0.01 allowed) or more than $100 (increments must be >$0.99).
Violation of the above could make your post subject to deletion without notification, guidelines are subject to change.
First off, not every sale in the Trade Forum is auction based. This was fairly obvious to everyone so I didn't comment. Check out my RAM thread, for example. Nobody attempted to start an auction-like bid fest. They just put up the cash.
Second, no where within the rules does it say that I need to be in possession of the item.
Third, it doesn't say that we cannot p1mp our own businesses or the company of others.
So let's go over the rules and see which ones I disobeyed:
All started threads must include an item for trade. Please include the item in the subject of the post.
The stuff at Future Shop is for sale (otherwise known as "trade" in that forum which was well established in my other thread). I could even argue the point that the other stuff is for sale--just at a cost of $0.00. If you wanna be super anal about it, edit the title to include all of the items. I think the thread title does encompass everything, but whatever. I feel grouping similar items one has for sale into 1 thread title works. I didn't say that I had 1 128 mb DIMM and 2 256 DIMM's for sale--I generalized. It wasn't a problem then so why now.
Once a trade is complete the thread will be locked and moved to the completed trades sub-forum.
If I don't update it and all the things are expired, go nuts.
Keep things civil, no threats, of any type.
Civil? Random movements for no reason? Who's uncivil now? Good grief, it's like Pimpin Matt all over again except you're move-crazy instead of delete-crazy.
If your trade thread has been around for a long time with no activity, you will be contacted to see if you still wish to have the trade posted.
That's on your end, not mine.
No trades of property known or suspected to be stolen.
Easily make this requirement.
Trades which get off topic or which never see any real trading progess may be deleted.
I'm not off topic what with the first 3 points I established. We won't know if any trading progress goes on unless the thread is there, now will we?
Bid increments should be of atleast $0.25 unless the current bid for the item is less than $1(any increment > $0.01 allowed) or more than $100 (increments must be >$0.99).
Irrelevant in all threads that are not auction-based.
Violation of the above could make your post subject to deletion without notification, guidelines are subject to change.
Traditionally, one simply locks the thread so that the parties involved have a chance to show their side of the case. If they do not succeed in opening the thread again, it is moved to the "boneyard." If you wanna delete it afterwards, go nuts. However, the case presentation stage should still be allowed.
So what's the problem then? You not like free stuff? People going to the Trading Forum are looking to exchange
or purchase something. I was told this quite vocally before. It's not General; in fact, it's very specific.
