Mission 1 Briefing

I will post the briefings, and a summary of the current objectives that are mandatory to complete the Alliance?s missions. And perhaps any unofficial requests that gamemaster characters might make.

Mission 1 Briefing

Post by Samurai »

I’m Commander Seti Thrace, Alliance Intelligence special operative, and head of the operational analysis/tactics division. I’m your mission coordinator for the duration of your time with Spec. Ops. Some of you are here for permanent posting, while the rest of you were selected by General Dodonna for your various skills and backgrounds. Given the nature of this mission, I hope that your postings aren’t too short-term.

There are two teams that will move out simultaneously to complete this mission on time. Your team will go to Hoth, and the other to Corellia.

Overview: The team that goes to Hoth must also take part in the Corellia mission once their own objectives are completed. And any failure at this point will complicate our plans immeasurably. The Hoth team will be given a Firespray-31 Patrol and Attack Craft as well as two starfighters of the team’s choice from the Serenity’s hanger (free of charge as long as you live up to your oath to the Alliance), The Firespray was difficult to acquire, so please try to keep it in one piece. As for the fighters you can choose from X-Wings or B-Wings, the plans for the B-Wings have been copied as of late, and some of the more daring nobles have begun to use them for a thrill, so you don’t have to worry about being recognized immediately as being with the Alliance. The ships will be painted to disguise their origins. The Corellia team will not be provided with ships for reasons that will be explained later in the briefing. Camon will be flying in his own A-Wing.

As far as weapons are concerned the members of the Hoth team will be given Weapons passes with 100 ration points each. They can be used in the Serenity’s armoury in exchange for whatever you can afford, and several people can combine their rations to sign out the more expensive equipment. This system guarantees that weapons and equipment are distributed evenly to all active units, most of the time. Talk to the Quartermaster if there is anything you need. He’s pretty resourceful.

The Corellia team will be given standard infiltration equipment, holdout blasters, sporting blasters, knives, recording rods, and slicing equipment, but nothing conspicuous.

Master Skywalker has allowed us to recruit his first two students for this mission. Hopefully the help of a couple Jedi can improve the odds of success.

Hoth Objective: There is a vault in the remains of Echo base. The vault was used to store the most sensitive information that the Alliance could find about the core systems’ defenses, in hope that there would be a time when the information would be useful. There is, however, something that is more valuable than analytical data about the gun platforms, and other obstacles that are positioned around all key planets. The decryption algorithm of the Coruscant sensor net is believed to have been captured during a hit and fade attack at the Bilbringi shipyards. A Star Destroyer data core was ejected for retrieval when an unarmed Star Destroyer was destroyed while in space dock. The assault shuttle that accompanied Rogue and Red squadrons in this raid picked up the core before hypering out. There wasn’t time to analyse the core before Hoth was evacuated. The information in that data core is required to minimize casualties in the following phases of the operation.

You’re probably wondering why we didn’t bring the core with us when we evacuated Hoth. It’s simple. When the shield generator was hit the explosion caused a cave-in that blocked all access to the vault. The vault is well hidden, and I doubt that the Empire found it when they went through the base, but even if they did we have to check it out. You know that Hoth is too cold to be considered habitable to all but the most determined, and Jedi Master Skywalker confirmed the presence of carnivores. Other than these life forms we don’t expect that there is anything there, except Tauntans. On a side note there was a weapons lab that was blocked off by the cave-in as well. The weapons lockers should have been able to survive the assault. If you should find any of the prototypes you can return them to Alliance R n D for a small reward, or you can keep them. The Hoth team must then hyper to Corellia to evacuate the Corellia team with the CorSec clearance codes that were downloaded onto a datapad somewhere in the vault following a recon mission. It may sound like a lot, but we are trying to oust the Empire. This wouldn’t normally be necessary, but lately the Empire has become very thorough when it comes to traffic around Corellia, and we aren’t sure why.

Corellia Objective: Corellia is deep within Imperial space, and communications with our operatives on that world remain difficult. There is a member of Rogue Squadron, Lieutenant Corran Horn, who has a connection with CorSec (the Corellian Security force), and has assured us that he can get the team in, but getting them out is another matter. The security is too tight regarding outgoing ships for his contact to be able to fudge the customs report, and if they try to break through customs they’ll have to deal with a patrol squadron of CorSec X-Wings, and whatever the Star Destroyers stationed over Corellia decide to deploy. Alliance Intelligence can’t get them clearance ahead of time because the CorSec computer system is independent of the Holonet. We cannot supply the Corellia team with a ship for this mission, because Lieutenant Horn’s contact is involved with public transportation, meaning that the team must travel incognito in a registered commercial transport, under Imperial authority.

This is a rescue mission. The Corellia team must infiltrate the private residence of a Hutt, named Bogdith. The target is a Twi’lek girl, named Sirrak Yoth, who has been imprisoned by him. She is part of a wealthy commercial family that tends to shy away from the Empire. If we can get her out of there they have promised to provide us with some of their unique resources: a Bacta production facility, and several ships for the next phase of the operation. The family also has considerable pull among the Twi’lek people, and may prove to be a valuable ally in establishing the new government once we remove the Empire from power.

The reason that we can’t get the codes before launching the Corellia mission is because we don’t believe that Bogdith will allow the girl to live for more than a week, maybe two. Normally a young Twi'lek girl would be a valuable slave, to sell, or keep, but Bogdith has a grudge against her family for interrupting a raid that Bogdith was conducting against an Alliance medical convoy. The Corellia team must get her out of his estate, and the Hoth team must evacuate them as soon as possible.

A note for the Hoth team: the Corellia team consists of three people, who are specially trained for deep cover infiltration. Once they rescue the girl you will have to meet all four of them in the Fried Mynock Cantina, 1.5 km east of the Corellian Central Space port. Look for a Human woman with a scar over her right eye. Make sure that you retrieve the datapad with the clearance codes, because without them you will not even be able to land.

Watch your backs once you get to Corellia, The last transmission we received from one of our spies revealed that several of our people have been tailed while on assignment. That was a month ago, and we haven’t heard anything since.

Good Luck, and may the Force be with you.
Until you find something worth dying for, you're not really living.
