Glitterstim Spice

I have made several tweaks that will be explained here. This will also cover Jedi force powers, that I will adjust to be closer to what is seen in the books. This will also hold the part about gameplay dynamics. Essentially I will say that it is in a similar format to IronFist's game.

Glitterstim Spice

Post by Samurai »

The use of Glitterstim is strictly prohibited, and anyone caught with spice can face anything from life imprisonment on Kessel, to summary execution. When eaten, Glitterstim gives a + 2D bonus to perception for about ten minutes. It is a mind-affecting drug, and it is believed that it can make non-force users open to its use, but there are also potential side effects when using Glitterstim. Such side effects include hallucinations, headache, and difficulty focusing on technical tasks. It is often used by Imperial interrogators for its ability to make the user see through lies.

When a character uses Glitterstim there is a 1D roll to determine if the character gains a force point until it is used or the drug wears off. (roll of 5 or 6 = 1 force point). This also gives the ability "Receptive Telepathy" allowing the character to read the surface thoughts of those in the vicinity.

The character must also role willpower, or stamina, to see if the drug adversely affects their mind. The initial roll, for 1 dose, is easy, but all subsequent uses within 24 hours increase the difficulty by 1 level. (the character will not be told about mental side effects unless they cause a physical penalty)

Excessive use can cause addiction, giving a –1D penalty to all skills until the character eats some spice, granting 24 hour relief, or going through 1 day of extreme detox at a medical facility. Addiction occurs when the stamina/strength check fails and a one is rolled on the wild die.
Until you find something worth dying for, you're not really living.
