In tecnical terms, yes a MAC is a PC. since PC stands for personal computer. I mac is a at home single user system. The vast majority of PC are based on the x86 arcitexture rather then MAC's Motarola arcitextue.

While you may not like Macs, that doesnt change the fact that they are still a Personal Computer. Only people with philosophy degrees and crazy people can deny that reality is anything other than what it is.

Despite the fact that I hate Mac's I think I have to agree that they are PC's by the definition of the word. It is possible however, that the letters PC have trancended their original meaning and have come to mean "a personal computer based on the x86 architechture".

I think that you can consider them a different type of PC, but you still have to classify them as a PC. A computer for Personal use. You can call them Mac PC's, or whatever "processor architecture they run" PC's.

Growing up Mac's were Mac's and PC are what we all have

I still go by that rule a Mac will never be a PC to me

i agree that by a technical term 'PC' includes macs however like previously stated it depends on your definition. since we are all computer literate it is a pc but comming from a sales perspective and dealing with the average person, when the term "pc" comes up it is refering to a windows based system

this is similar to the way that "faggot" has moved from meaning a torch to meaning homosexual...

funny how the vinacular works

I think that most people would accept that a PC could run Linux as well, it dosen't necessarily mean windows, it's the architecture that is most important.

Damn straight. By the definition that is proposed, neither bob nor I would be running "PC's".

Thats why I don't think Mac's are PC's for the reason they arn't PC parts

you can only use Mac parts in it

By that logic you run and AMD system NOT a PC, since you can only run AMD compatible parts in it.

By what I meant by that comment was that you can plug a normal PCI sound card into either Amd or Intel.

Normal? to a mac user a mac soundcard is normal. Normal is a very fixed point of view.
