The worst part is that people are going to use this to make a ton of hacks for HL2, if valve can't find a way to control this then HL2 Multiplay is going to suck online.

I don't even know why legitamate modders would want this code, I'm sure the support they will recieve from Valve once the game is released will be better than anything they will get now.

I just thought of something.

This could REALLY suck for Valve and not just for the whole "oh, we just gave away our engine for free" or "oops, our multiplayer experience is gonna be full of cheats" reasons, either.

They could get sued by the creators of the Havok engine. They just released, inadvertly, the source code to a 3rd party app that they said they wouldn't release.

That would be the final kick in the nuts, eh?

I think that Microsoft should take most of the blame for this, apparently it was flaws in Outlook that allowed these people to get at the code.

I get upset when their stupid security flaws start to get in the way of my gaming experience.

Odd, that statement coming from a die hard Windows fanboy, though :mrgreen:

Plus, who knows if Valve fully patched their Outlook (though, it seems to me that ANY comp with the source should be a stand alone......no LAN, no net........nuttin'. Incovenient? Yes. Safe? More so).

Isn't Matt the diehard Windows fanboy here? Some of the problems with Windows are starting to annoy me enough that I am actually thinking about dual booting WinXP and Linux the next time I reinstall.
