WestWood Canned by EA for no reason!!!

So you thought you hated EA for shutting down Westwood before? Well it gets much worse! EA's said they shutdown Westwood because at the current moment Westwood had no game in development and no plans for any future games so they were just costing them money. Well after talking to the person that did the original game voice for EVA, we found out that Renegade two (which was going to be based on Red Alert) was close to completion, but EA decided Westwood had enough games! A few days after Westwood was shutdown all the workers were sworn to secrecy so EA wouldn't be in people bad books for shutting down Renegade 2.

A bunch of the creators decided to let the public know and released a few screenshots and a very short video showing off level 1. Links below:

Even thought the first one sucked hairy goat balls, I would've liked to have seen the 2nd one. Companies that make good games don't deserve to be canned. On a related note, the team that made Elite Force 2 all got fired except Levelord just about a day after the game went gold. That's gotta suck for ya. You just finish your project, feel elated ........... and you're fired.

The first one didn't suck hairy goat balls. It was a decent enough game, just not terribly revolutionary I suppose. And now it's kinda eclipsed by other games, like BF and stuff.

No goat balls though. I recall the demo being fairly fun, actually. Anyway, yeah, boohoo. It's kinda funny, Westwood and Blizzard both suffering some sort of loss at relatively the same time. The big two RTS competitors from days of yore. Maybe Westwood guys will join Roper's new comp. That'd be cool.

The first one had terrible ai and some mediocre graphics. Why no elite force 3? Of course there will be! There has to be! :cry:

Oh yeah, there was a single player to that, right?

I was just recalling the multiplayer demo where you had real bases like C&C. That was the only thing I played. As far as that went, I thought the graphics were ok, and the AI was all real people, so I guess you're right, compared to me

The single player for Renegade was flat out awful. The pistol did more damage than the rocket launcher. Or so it seemed what with the messed up bounding boxes. Granted, they did the release they flying transports and stuff later, but up 'til then...........hairy goat balls.
