A huge part of ergonomics is done just by setting up your workspace so that your posture can be good. Not having an upward bend in your wrist from using your keyboard/mouse on a surface that's too high will help with the whole area from your wrist back to your elbow. If you have a 90 degree bend in your elbow while typing that's going to alleviate a lot of the problems with arms.

I was having some big ergonomic problems because of all the typing I do. When I reworked my workstations at home and work, the difference was huge.

I've tried the microsoft ergonomic peripherals, but they slow down my typing and make me less productive. I'm using a Corsair K90 mechanical keyboard now and I'm loving it. Typing is lighter and more responsive.
When in doubt, nuke it from orbit...

I loved my Microsoft ergo kb's. I'm waiting for someone to make a mech version of it. The IBM Model M's are just too hard to find or too expensive. :(
