Re: Small and Cheap HPA compressor
Is it the increasing or decreasing model?
http://www.barksdale-usa.com/ds-9048.php
I still think we would need a 4500psi model.
Ie. Model 5 from the above webpage.

Ie. this one:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/BARKSDALE-9048- ... 500wt_1180
I *think* we would want the decreasing one.
Ie. input of ~4500psi adjusted down to 3000psi.

Re: Small and Cheap HPA compressor
Everybody needs to send a big thanks out to Neb and Homey B.
Yesterday, thanks to their help, we managed to get the following:
-belt-driven Shoebox
-hardened pistons
-Desiccant air dryer
-Tunaman stainless steel filling station
All for less than the price of a single, stock chain driven model. Next time you see them, give 'em your thanks.

Our setup is similar to this one:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=pl ... lZIQI93ceQ
It's actually a bit better, but this vid will give you an idea of how we need to organize things.

Don't forget that you drove. We sure did have quite a 6 hour Michigan adventure.

I got a timer at work yesterday so you can scratch that off the list.

Re: Small and Cheap HPA compressor
Excellent. I guess we'll need to order the 4.5k tank now.

Re: Small and Cheap HPA compressor
Awesome. If you're still in Norwich this weekend, I'll bring the compressor down and we can start hooking it up.

Re: Small and Cheap HPA compressor
The top cylinder requires 2 cast urethane #010 o-rings
The bottom requires 2 cast urethane #006 o-rings
Using the wrong o-rings is not likely to 'fry' your shoebox, but they will wear-out very fast.
The back check orings are NOT standard buna, they are Viton and can take about 3 times the heat before melting. The white ones are high quality cast urethane that I get from a supplier I have been working with for 20 years to get me the right stuff.
I guarantee you that you can't get them from the hardware store and you can't buy a few cheaper than you can get them from me. I just had a customer send his compressor in for repair because he used the wrong orings on the back check and couldn't figure out why they were melting.

The particular oring on backorder is cast urethane 90 durometer size 006
Lower cylinder takes 006 for all three.
