Just reading the rules and trying to find a way to legally eliminate someone with a fake knife.

Barrel-tagging: You may "barrel-tag" players and eliminate them without shooting. Unless it is on your marker the barrel must be at least 8 inches long, and in plain sight (not hidden up your sleeve). When you tag them you must immediately say, "Barrel tag!" when you touch them with it. Barrel-tagged players are immediately eliminated and are to walk away quietly. Failure to do so will result in a judge punch. After you have exited the area you may declare that you are eliminated as you continue to your hospital or an exit. Barrel tagged players cannot be healed by medics. No barrel tags are allowed during the "Dinner Battle" or "Final Battle."

I figure I could dress up a spare barrel with a handle to look sort of like a knife, but still be legal for eliminations. I know some scenarios/fields allow rubber knifes, but Adrenaline/Canadian Carnage is not one of them.

Tyger has a vid on being useful in a game no matter the circumstance. He talked about going into one round of a scenario with nothing but a barrel. Whether it was just a good story or not, it is something you could do in theory. It would be, without a doubt, the lightest setup you could run with.

Free Enterprise shows a pretty-much perfect General barrel tag by doing an excellent Dead Man's Walk:

I might be in, but I could probably use the extra paint the next day.

3) What is the field velocity?

Maximum velocity is 280 fps.

as per:
http://canadiancarnage.com/faq.html

May want to start getting your equipment ready now so you're not "that guy" standing in the chrono line when the game starts.

Living Legends has been a constantly-evolving event due to it's exploding popularity and the fact that we don't have 200 acres to put everyone on. The first years it was full of missions like most of my events are. However commanders quickly found that they could simply create a skirmish line at "the sixty" and, by controlling more of the field, they would score more points and win. However in doing so the game became stagnant and players didn't get to play all over the field. So for LL4 (last year) I abandoned my regular format and came up with the format you played this year where every hour you have one objective to defend and one to try and capture, as does teh other side, and you both meet for a skirmish. Add in the three two-part missions and there is a lot going on every hour. You just have to check in at your HQ and find out where you are needed. I had to come up with a way to guarantee that over a thousand players would stay spread across the entire field. It worked well, Bedlam changed hands many times, and the players loved it. This year we even added some missions back in. Every hour there were three, two part missions along with all of the other things going on.

My other events have tons of multi-part missions. Later this year I will have evens in Canada, New York, Indiana, Maryland, and Texas.

So, yeah, radios for our group and finding out from the commanders what to do will be pretty critical if the objectives change every hour.

I have 2 extra radios on top of the one I'm going to use for squad com and the one for commander's channel (assuming there is one)
