Planet Eclipse Etha
How the Etha works:
http://www.pbnation.com/showthread.php?t=3691539
It's similar in operation to the Emag somewhat. It's also similar to the Phenom for the Tipmmann people in the crowd.
EMC add-on to turn a speedball gun into a tacti-cool gun (see attachment). The stock, as Neb pointed out, is 98 Custom based so this is a nice upgrade path for many. Not as modular as the Ion platform, but a nice touch.

Re: Planet Eclipse Etha
I just re-read the tech specs on the Etha and realized this (from the pbnation post):
PE's page on the Etha
Pretty sure that means it has the AGD equivalent of a Level 10 bolt which is very cool.
How a Level 10 works.
They're, basically, doing what I'm putting together with my Egomag.
The Classic Automags, Mini-mags, Tiberius Arms T8/8.1/9/9.1, Tippmann TPX/TiPX/Phenom/Crossover, etc. all use the Level 7 or equivalent style bolt for reference.
Two key features of this design are the fact that it seals the dump chamber when the firing sequence is initiated, and it that it has a 2 stage bolt speed profile (starts moving slowly and then rapidly speeds up on the second half of its movement). The first is important because sealing the firing chamber is critical for efficiency. The second will allow the gun to deal with misloaded or jammed paint very well.
The Etha bolt features dual-stage acceleration so that it picks up the paintball at a lower speed before accelerating further to push the ball fully into the barrel. The front of the bolt has a ramped rubber section. This extended rubber piece is both removable and replaceable and designed to flex freely in order to prevent clipping of the second ball in the stack as well as to be flexible on the face to cushion the paintball as its pushed toward the barrel. Both of these features work hand-in-hand with the Deftek Feed System and Break Beam Sensor System to keep any occurrences of barrel breaks to an absolute minimum.

Re: Planet Eclipse Etha
Yeah, that's Tom Kaye himself putting his tongue at risk. You lost a bit of efficiency compared to the Level 7 bolt, but you could shoot crazy brittle tournie paint. When they combined that with the eyes for the X/Euromag, you had one of the most reliable markers in regards to anti-chop (ie. eyes and mechanical bolt prevented chops).
Since Tom got out of the paintball gun business, he's basically allowed anybody to copy his ideas. Thus, the Etha was born from the mind of Jack Wood.

Re: Planet Eclipse Etha
It really is one of the cheapest entrance fee into an Xmag-style marker. You lose the modularity of the Automag, but if you just want to open up the box and play it's a pretty hard value to beat.
Add the milsim bracket if you're into that thing, and you've basically purchased two markers for a pretty decent price.

Re: Planet Eclipse Etha
Just bought the Etha today!
It's been ordered from Adrenaline and will be in this week. I'm told the EMC kit is due out this month.
I got a great deal:
$449 on the shelf, I paid $480 after tax and bought a $100 gift certificate from some kid online for $90 so $470 total.
