This year Tiberius Arms will sponsor a new twist that is being added to Viper Paintball events. Viper will be adding special "First Strike" sniper missions to every event. These missions can only be completed by the designated "First Strike Sniper" on each team.

Tiberius Arms is making this possible by providing two Tiberius T9 sniper markers. One will be checked out to a sniper on each side for their use during the event, along with a case of Tiberius Arms' exclusive "First Strike" ammo. "First Strike" rounds are specially designed paintball rounds that fly farther, flatter, and straighter than any other paintball ammo available.

To apply for this coveted position you must first register for the event. Once you have registered you may contact Viper with your qualifications and background. The special "First Strike Sniper" missions must be completed by the designated "First Strike Sniper" who may be accompanied only by his "spotter" so the applicant must have the experience, skills, and determination to complete these missions.

The "First Strike Snipers" will be chosen two weeks prior to the event, and their names will be posted on the Viper forums at www.viperpaintball.com

In TF2 it's always the 12 year olds who can't aim and won't shut up on alltalk that overfill the sniper ranks on the team. Then when they aren't playing sniper they're playing spy... hah

But I guess in theory they're the coolest classes...

Anyways, glad to see that whoever does get picked will have to do so through some sort of merit on their behalf. You said those things were fifty cents a shot?

Last I checked, Flasc paintball out of Ingersoll sold 100 rounds for $45.

So, after tax, yeah about $0.50 a shot.

I was going to let everyone register for themselves. As the whole "group buy" thing has kinda fallen out, I'm not chancing dead beats on my credit card. We can all just place our team name in the appropriate box.

Well, if it's up in the air we can either take the easy win or chance defeat and pull off an incredible win.

PRO's
-"battle hardened" troops. Most of the people on Techpb who say they are going are people who have been to multiple, large scenarios. For the past 2 Living Legends Techpb's team won when facing overwhelming numbers from PBNation. Checking the forums I frequent, Techpb is geared up, PBNation is quiet on even attending, and MCB is only concerned about Castle. Looks like numbers are in Mike's favour.
- -ORaNGe- is the head of the Canadian regiment of Techpb (he's the admin of the forums). He's currently in the Air Force up at Base Borden. It was said that him being one of the commanders at Wasaga last year was instrumental in their win. Here he is getting a general kill last year at Dawn of the Dead in London.
-TechPB has flat out crazy Canadians in the Citrus Connection Division. This is Pinky and justchase. The former is a mod, the other his friend. Those, my friends, are the eyes of Satan
-Mike is a fierce competitor. He believes in vigilante (ie. watch the last minute of that vid) justice, is not afraid to lay down paint, and has a host of useful paintball tips, and has a larger following (~79,000 subscribers/~37,000,000 views vs. Wolf's ~15,000 subscribers/~1,500,000 views). He's pretty good sniping First Strikes and now he's armed with an FN303 that has one of the largest capacity magazines currently on the market. Mike not only talks the talk, he walks it.
-they highly favour high-end electro "space dildos." In a day-long battle the lightest, highest firepower gun will lessen how tired you are and what you can lay down. You can argue about style, tactical accessories, etc. all you want but at the end of the day, if you want to win the scenario, the one who can effectively lay down the most paint and accomplish the objective wins. Some will likely object to my analysis on this matter.



CON's
-despite what they say, they're expected to win. I'm listing this as a con because it may be a hollow victory (ie. "battle-hardened" vets vs. a bunch of walk-on n00bs........where's the challenge?)
- -ORaNGe's feats are self-described so they may be suspect. He's also been described as a grump all of last Living Legend because he forgot to bring a change of socks and developed feet blisters.
-their technique is well documented. "To the front" is their battle cry. Watching all of the Youtube video gives a pretty accurate idea of how they'll play.
-if it rains, battery wh0res could be up the creek. Seeing as how Techpb has said they're going to have a division of mechanical 'mags this is a moot point IMO.
-play for the American? When you can back up a Canuck?

-he's Canadian
-Wolf has a bunch of Generaling experience where Mike does not. Wolf travels world-wide to go to scenarios. He gets invited to ones because people love to scenario with Wolf. Hell, he led Mike at Living Legends 4. They're his thing.
-he does have team connections.
-last team count gave Wolf about 1/2 of the teams committed to showing:

-Mike might get stopped at the border with his FN303. It's a less-than-lethal weapon. Try explaining that to the border guards.
-if we can beat Techpb, it will be epic


CON's
-until I saw that he general'd, Wolf seems like he's largely just a paintball "salesman."
-Techpb offers the chance to strategize with some people who really know paintball. It's unknown whether Wolf's side can bring that. A possible learning experience if we were to play Techpb.
-Wolf may have the skills to lead, but I have no idea on who he's getting to back him up. Most of the other times, it's been Techpb staff.
-Wolf's crew favour tacticool. In a long scenario, equal firepower at a heavier weight will wear you down quicker. Some will likely object to my analysis on this matter.




It's a pretty even split. Either way it looks like it will be fun.


So who are we all leaning towards? And what will our squad team name be?

Yeah, it's tough to tell who's favoured to win. I'm betting on Techpb but others disagree.

I suggest this. Think of some squad names and we'll decide Saturday around noon. As to Mike or Wolf, flip a coin?
