9500 Pro Overclocking

Post by THE JEW (RaVeN) »

Since this is actually a bit more difficult than your average overclock, here's the guide on how to do so:

http://www.hardfind.com/reviews.asp?id=3

This is the most complete guide that I've found so far.

I read most of it already. I dont really have the time or the interest to screw with my Radeon right now though.

For Nvidia cards........yes.

For Ati cards............pretty much.

Drivers are a pain for ALL OSes. If ya don't believe me, I've got 10 different soundcard drivers on my harddrive right now that I had to mangle together to get my onboard Soundblaster 128 working.

I've got a shiny toonie with Bob's name on it. Both have to get their own parts, assembly, install OS, and have token ring working. Each other chooses the distro of choice. CD's allowed to be made before hand. Responsibility of each party to find and bring OS they are required. Anybody else willing to wager?

I'd have to see the card before the race began.

Excellent!!

Next on TLC: Distro Wars.

2 teams have 10 hours to assemble their personal computers from a pile of junk and install the distro of choice of the opposing team. If we stay in syndication long enough, expect MEGA Distro Wars where each team has to install a multitude of OS, perform various tasks (from opening a spreadsheet to launching the next NASA shuttle), and doing so on their own budget. Stay tuned.

First off, there is no challenge. The topic is acidemic. Second I don't have the time to waste on setting up a token ring system just to prove a point. And Lastly, the contest is Unfair. The card in question has no identification printed on it. It would be trial and error to set it up, even in NT or 2000. There is no windows equivilent to lspci to the best of knowlege.
