Sure, but I don't want to lose good footage because it's unsafe.

but if it is unsafe is it really good? lol

Not to rain on anyone's parade but shouldn't we play a few weeks with the technology working successfully before you guys worry about promoting it. I'm just saying.

We're promoting the idea of the technology.

As per Safety, what the eff is this rule?

No Blind Fire:
Players must always have a line of sight in the direction they are firing their marker.

Almost impossible to enforce, serves no real purpose of value, and potentially eliminates useful tactics.

Like most things in Paintball, the honour system is in place, and if you blind fire, but you'll hear about it when someone sees you. As for safety, if you're shooting without looking you could easily hit someone multiple times or in the face if they don't have their mask on. (which they shouldn't, but you won't know since you're not looking at them)

I'm curious as to how shooting randomly at something you can't see is a "tactic" besides cover fire. But there needs to be risk to providing cover fire.

yeah, you could be plugging someone a foot and a half away from your gun and you wouldn't know till you heard it...
When in doubt, nuke it from orbit...

I fail to see the reason for the rule. We're not actors in a friggin' John Woo film contemplating some Max Payne moves on either side of a corner. Anybody within a radius of significance will be known to me either by me hearing them or them shooting/barrel tagging me.

I'm not saying it's an effective tactic--hardly. But if you're running away, pulling a few shots off will potentially give an attacker pause.

Nobody should be remotely close to the play area without a helmet. Thus, it's not a concern. I, personally, think the staging area should be moved inside barn but that's another story for another day.

The first thing any paintball joint will tell you is that you *ALWAYS* have the mask on unless you're in the staging area and all guns are safetied/disarmed.

You're hot? You get hot in the mask.
You can't see? You can't see in the mask.
Your face gets an itch? You have an itch while wearing the mask.
You have to puke? You puke in the mask.

Blindness and deafness are a safety concern. That's why they quickly moved from ski goggle-styled to the current style.

As a method of distraction, blindfire can be effective while your teammates flank or retreat to aid you in your sticky situation.

We're playing a military simulator here. I'm all for us using full tactics and incorporating things further (ie. scenarios ala LAW vs. Tanks, etc.) This can be as big or small as we want it to be.

I agree, but if I shot someone in the face because they took their mask off and it's their fault, I would still feel terrible.

I think that the spirit of the rule is that you don't point your gun around a corner and fire. I think that shooting behind you as you run away is not blind fire. Also with the cars in the field, you can stay behind the glass and shoot over while maintaining line-of-sight.

So after the first video worked out well and with the difficulties with getting a second one filmed I have decided to switch camps and help you out lol.

I have ordered 2 cameras for the purpose from deal extream so hopfully they will get here before winter:

http://www.dealextreme.com/p/usb-rechargeable-2-0mp-pinhole-spy-av-camera-disguised-as-8-led-flashlight-tf-slot-41777
mounted on gun with this:
http://www.dealextreme.com/p/aluminum-alloy-3-side-gun-mount-with-wrench-25mm-30mm-caliber-72317

It might need a little sanding as it is 2mm out, but it should work.
Its not HD, but it is still pretty good
Video resolution: 1280*960@30fps (1.2MP)

The second cam is a "head mount"
http://www.dealextreme.com/p/usb-rechargeable-glasses-5-0m-pixel-pin-hole-spy-camcorder-hidden-camera-with-tf-slot-65792
I am going to try them under my mask at first, if that works ok great.
If not, I will take them apart and mod it into my mask. The helmet style gives me plenty of room.
Video Resolution: 640 x 480 pixels /1280 x 960 pixels

Sorry it is not pureHD but I figure LowHD is better then No HD lol

So if you can get your gun mount working we could have 3 different POV's as my Gun mount can fit on any MilSim gun so we can pass it around.
Also, if it works out well I would not be apposed to picking up a few more of the gun mount options.

This is the one I will likely be getting as a helmet cam.

Also 720p is all I'm interested in as true 1080p is not that important on the internet.
