New KalNet Server

I have just made arragments to aquire a Compaq Proliant 4500. This is a single processor machine, with the option to go up to 4, i will be taking that option.

The cost for this little toy, $30.

It will be ariving in May, it is comming from Calgary. A friend is bringing it down for me.

I Have yet to decide that, I am looking for others like it thou. The Rack mount nature intreges me!

it does look very promising. Where are you going to get the other 3 processors? do they have to be the same? and does this one have redundant power supplys like the othe quad-procs?

It has 2 power supplies, one is a backup.

Yes they have to be the same. It can takeup to Pentium Pro's. I am still looking to what is required.
