Organic Food

Post by THE JEW (RaVeN) »

Remember, unless you're buying it for the taste or growing it yourself it's just a sham:

People like me are growing your organic food. Think about that and you'll see it's just a useless label. ;)

Not organic, but it highlights how marketing and pricing is affecting our food:

Saving those $0.30 by buying American beef seems a bit cr@ppier now, eh? E. coli (again from the US) for teh win!

A pox upon all of you organic consumers. Support industrial farming. Support complicated pesticides. Support me, your friendly neighborhood research farmer!

I personally think that organic food tastes no differently. Eventually though, that's all the food we will have....once the land is basically murdered. Then the labs and lab-fields will grow ALLLLL the worlds foods and such.
My aim is un-erring. Saying that I will miss is like saying we arn't destroying our planet.

Doesnt he definition of Organic mean something with lots of Carbon, and that is living? I know we have "modified" the term but I think thats all organic foods are...Really expensive garden variety foods that people are too lazy to spray or take other care of and so claim that its healthier. Better just to Swipe Darius' gold from his bank and buy a garden to grow your own if you want organic.
Or ask Paragon. He grows good :P

And by the way.
E. coli is far more common than most people believe. We are just immune to most of the strains since they are everywhere, including working to digest your food in your intestines and giving you extra nutrients humans wouldnt get otherwise. The reason people get sick is because they find a new strain, or one that shouldnt be in humans anyway, so our bodies get rid of it. And when you count the people who get sick and pass it off as gas or flu, compared to those who actually get diagnosed with E. coli poisoning then it really is quite low.
If its bad, you see it on the news....but you dont see the mediocre side of the same thing.

I've actually cultured E. coli from pig shit and gotten sick from it via a lack of hand-washing. Yay me! I am my own personal Walkerton.
