Featured additions in the Windows Vista version of IE7 include a 'protected mode' which isolates Internet Explorer from the registry and system files, restricting the browser from making changes to the operating system except when manually told to do so by the user. Remote controls and programs will not be able to use Internet Explorer as a gateway to corrupting the operating system, or at least that's the idea. We'll have more on this interesting feature later in the article.

Yes, you'll notice the first portion of my post stating that M$ is hurrying to catch up, then I list all the features that they are implementing in IE7 that already exist in Firefox...

the fact that it's built into the OS...

Which means Firefox cant directly affect the registry or system files without a serious code bug..

Which means, Internet explorer will have a much harder time affecting registry and system files.

My understanding of this comment was that you weren't impressed with IE7 because it is just now doing all the things other browsers do, but is still integrated into the OS. If this was an error in judgement, then I beg your forgiveness

nope, I was unimpressed because its only now getting somewhat separated from the OS after years and hundreds of exploits later

I had to reread the entire thread about 3 times before I understood which side each of you were coming from. It reminds me of the argument Homey B and me were having over a comment Thump made. I argued that he was saying someone else was a dumb@ss while Homey B was saying that Thump was calling himself a dumb@ss. His Mom was wondering what the h3ll we were so riled up over (we were both shouting at each other). When we realized each other's point of view, it was pretty funny.
