I disagree entirely. If don't feel that the government or any of the candidates don't reflect my views than it is my right not to vote. To suggest that its a duty to vote removes the point of democracy, if voting isn't voluntary then you aren't getting an accurate representation of the public and therefore democracy has failed.

Not voting because you're too lazy, I cant condone. Not voting because you don't want to scratch your ballot because that's a waste of time and that's all you intended to do anyways is your right as a citizen.

If you don't want to vote, you don't value the system by which we live. You're, therefore, against the order that it provides. You're either a part of it or you're not. Besides, we make the "least screw" decision every day. I would love to have it that every morning I'm awakened by a beautiful buxom women sucking me off. Forget alarm clocks. A back tensing orgasm is what I'll take, thank you. Sadly, the option isn't on the ballot (I'm working on it though). So I could hook up a timed electric fence shocker to myself, have my father fire off 50 rounds every morning at 5am, or buy a $10 alarm clock. I compromised, but it works.

That does not sound likely, the best people to do the job will be those that do it out of a sense of pride and love for there country. The demographics would not be a factor in this case.

I think that only people who spend there whole lives studying non-partisan politics should be able to vote. the closes thing that we have today are PhD holders in Political Science. Also these people are far from what should be required!

I'm fine with limiting voters. The duty being of everyone--that's just our current system. You want to make it whoever pays taxes? Go nuts. However, political science? Fark that. We live in a world governed by violence and greed............and boobs, but I digress.
