Borging Not Required

apparently with the 5.02 version of the FAH consul borging is not required. It has an option to start as a service... and since most people dont even know what the information in the task manager means... its a pretty safe bet it will stay "hidden"

Yeah, I tried that but it didn't work. It would only launch as a service for my personal login. When I forced it as a service on another computer with a different method it then worked. But it would only work when logged in. I'm trying to find a way to force it even when logged out.

i have the login which everyone uses so its golden there

though i set the cpu usage to 100 and 70% on idle so that there is less chance that i get discovered.... though if i remember correctly these are hyper threading enabled but still better to give them that 30% then to get caught

ya that would be cool but i think the only way to do that would be some sorta hard-boot (like the bios)i cant see one program being able to skirt a network boot

If you installed it on the Xeon system, you would need to have 4 copies of F@H going for it to max out the system. If you only install 2 copies, you'll only be using 2.8 outta a potential 5.6. Hyperthreading splits folding so that each copy can only use 1/4 of the full potential.

it is not a network boot. HD sheriff just blanks the HD with a preset image. The network part is just password validation.

there has been a lot of debate about this on 2cpus folding forum. Opinion seems to be shifting to only running two instances insatead of four. A lot of guys are starting to shut down the their 3rd and 4th processes.

However when I looked at the task manager it was using 100% of processor 1 and 70% of processor two..
that and the fact i was working on limited time as i didnt want to be caught pissing around on a city computer

EDIT: doesn't Hyperthreading have to be enabled for what the Jew said to be true? From my understsanding which is admittedly limited, HT can be turned on and off. In the off position it just treats the cpu like a regular one and uses the full capacity

The only way I can fully load mine up (ie. 100%) is if I run 4. Heck, what with the 96core I'm still not at 100% (I just now have a pagefile that's over a gig.............this new core sucks goat dong).
