i think that it should more be a penalty to defence then a bonus to offense
however
an alternate suggestion is to drop the difficulty of using the weapon as now you have a bigger target

Gentlemen, we got 20 calls about the David Hyde-Pierce incident. And as you know, one call equals a billion people, which means 20 billion people were offended by this

Only some weapons have a difficulty to use, so that wouldnt really be the best bonus for everyone.
I would think that the character being shot at is already at a disadvantage since he wouldnt be able to dodge... I dont know that a bonus or a negative either way would be entirely fair.

No, they arent breasts, they're personalities, because its ok to like a girl for her personalities
It takes a big man to cry, but it takes a bigger man to laugh at that man

Unless the character is caught by surprise (didn't even know he was being attacked/not yet in combat) he/she automatically gets to dodge/parry. If we went by the idea that there is no dodge/parry attempt when back attacked, then Neb cannot attempt to parry, which I thought would be unfair. Thus I thought an attack bonus/defence penalty would be more in order.

I am going to post later tonight (around midnight). Tempus was the one who said he wanted to perform another action, and nobody else said they had any intention of doing anything this round, or it probably would have been done by now.
Just for clarfication of the rules before hand. Now that Nagta has thrown a knife at Ka, who has done a full parry, Ka cannot make an attempt to dodge, and he cannot parry a ranged attack without his lightsaber. This is explained in the rulebook on page 90, for those who have access to it. Nagta must beat the difficulty for the range, which is very easy.

The latest post was a hard one, but I have decided that I will not protect the characters from their fates. That is, above all, the player's job.
Neb. You are not out of the game, but you will have to create a new character. I can write a new character in very soon. The only character restriction is that there can be no more Jedi.
Also, a note to Tempus and Nebuchadnezzar: This incident is finished here. There will be no immediate animosity between a new character and Nagta, or whoever starts such will find themself accidentally falling into a hole with a Sarlaac, or maybe be eaten by a Rancor, I haven't decided that yet. To be fair I will allow you to roll strength vs 100D to see if you survive.

lol
lets see with a 4d str it would take... hmm 162 6's on the wild die to just be stunned... i think that is ample deterent to not pick a fight with a rancor

I had considered that someone would make an attack of opportunity when someone was in a position from which they could not react. I also recall telling Steve that in defending himself he would not get a darkside point. I will, however, be giving a darkside point for this action. It was not technically a defensive action, and was an attack of opportunity against a defenseless character. Steve asked me if he would get a darkside point for attacking a character who had been wounded and was prone, and I said yes, as it is not self defence. I believe that the same is true of this situation.
I am, however, open to the possibility of a miraculous recovery, should Ka have a sudden revelation from the force and seek to make peace with Nagta. (And if Nagta doesn't reciprocate there may be an "accident")
I am unfamiliar with role-playing etiquette in such situations, and input from you guys would be helpful. I only want the game to continue without such complications. Ghost and Ironfist, your opinions on this situation would be very much appreciated.

as for the DP shawn it is your call i'll take one without complaint as i can understand that he was helpless (though in my defense i was left with few options)
however 2 i think would be extreme
