Tempus, just so you know: performing a parry in a round will count towards any melee/brawling attacks that are made against you, but there is nothing in the rules that says you can't eat the hit by choice, so I will not include the parry roll for the knife attack.
Until you find something worth dying for, you're not really living.
the reason i didnt want to parry the knife attack is i didnt want -d for the action
also i was wondering is a full parry the same as a full dodge in that it adds the difficulty to my manuever?

Gentlemen, we got 20 calls about the David Hyde-Pierce incident. And as you know, one call equals a billion people, which means 20 billion people were offended by this
why did i get a -D? i only did one action... as well shouldn't the difficulty be added to my parry since that was all that i was doing?

You performed 2 actions in that round, the first being taking the saber, and the second was parrying Rava's attack. You therefore get a -1D penalty to the parry, and cannot get a full reaction.
I also feel that I should point out that I have deviated from the rules in terms of the penalties. According to the rules, multiple actions cause a penalty to all rolls in a round, but I have opted to take the approach of cumulative penalties as you perform more actions. This reflects the fact that in combat you often will not have your fight planned several moves in advance. You may perform the first action without penalties, but any other actions get progressively more difficult.

In this case you will have to parry before attempting to use Ka for cover. The attack is already well under way, thus you cannot get the cover bonus until the next attack, and you do not have time to move to cover before being hit, unless you want to eat the hit this time and still hope you can use Ka for cover later.
You can parry and move to cover, but the cover bonus cannot come into play until the next attack.

after talking with shawn it was unclear to me the rules in attacking someone from behind. I am posting this with shawn's permission for clarity's sake... perhaps Ghost you could shed some light on this situation?

No, they arent breasts, they're personalities, because its ok to like a girl for her personalities
It takes a big man to cry, but it takes a bigger man to laugh at that man

I had thought that a back attack would put the character on the defensive at a disadvantage, or give the attacking character an attack bonus. This is allowed in the rules, and I have already stated that I want the combat to be a bit more complex. I wanted other people's input before taking this into account, as it is player vs player.
