Nightly Virus scans

I have setup a version of ClamAV, this is a virus scanner for Unix based servers. It's normal use is for scaning E-mails as they arive and other webhosting applications.
A secondary function is the ability to scan harddisk for viruses. I have decided to impliment nightly system scans of all 'open-to-web' folders. This will include /home and /www.
The default mode is to delete any file found to be infected. I am wondering if anyone thinks that is is to harsh, and if I should keep copies of infected files.

Screw it. Delete it all.

We can always get more pr0n. The irritation of getting a virus can never be compensated. Let us all take a moment to remember Funlove and the hell it caused us all.

Granted.

Getting back all the pr0n Funlove robbed from us took at least a week, though.

This is the position that the makers of ClamAV took as well. They did not include a mode that attemps to repair the file. They figure that the file could never really be trusted anyway.
