In the store next to Jodi's, they are selling Samurai Bamboo practice swords. The benefits are obvious; you can hit your opponent and avoid that trip to the ER. Second, you can avoid listening to the Kal bitch about chips in his weaponry

Sounds like a good idea. I wouldn't let anyone use my swords to play around with. You might, however, want to try using some kendo armour, unless you're pretty sure that you won't cry. There's a reason the punishment cane is made of bamboo: it probably won't kill you (we're talking extreme excessive force to accomplish that), but it will leave you a swollen mass of welts and it will hurt to wear clothes.
