They're out now here in Toronto:

ASUS V9520 GeForce4 FX5200 128MB $175 at CC

Now if that's the 5200 ULTRA, that's a decent deal (Sapphire ATI Radeon 9000 Pro 128MB DDR OEM $149 at CC) because the price is only going to go down after the initial release hoopla. However, if that's the vanilla 5200, that's kinda crappy. For example, if we pressume the price difference between Ultra and Non is the same as Ati's Pro/Non-Pro with it's budget card, it will be a $20 difference. That would place the 5200 Ultra at $195. I also would like to know if it uses 64-bit memory bus (some have been rumoured to be castrated 5200's.......the whole GFMX200 and GF4 420 debacle all over again) and that's just plain crap. A budget budget board? Yes, you read that right. At least this will drive down prices across the board.

Can't wait to see what happens when the 5600's start coming out (mmmmmm......9500 Pro's for less than $260........if they're still around, that is).

No, just a comment to show that if I were to buy one, I'd need some SERIOUS cash. Homey B and used to joke that vid card's would one day cost over a grand. At $862, the FX Ultra is gettin' close. Just think; you can buy rather competent systems for this price.

As far as I can tell, this is the Ultra version of the 5200 and, in my opinion, prolly the best budget card out there for under $200 (unless you get a 4200 64 mb on sale).

ASUS V9560 GeForce FX 5600 128MB $288

This is the 5600 NON Ultra. The 9500 Pro is still (I think) a much better deal and if the 9600 Pro comes unlocked and cheaper than the 9500 Pro (like it's supposed to), it will also be a better deal IMHO. 9500/9600 Pro prolly the best card going for under $300.

Best sub $100 card? One of these 3:

Palit Daytona GeForce4 MX-440 64MB TV-Out $64
EVGA GeForce4 MX-440 64MB TV-Out $67
Asus Geforce 2 (Ti? Ask Homey B on this one) $40

Choose according to budget.

Needed to rob a bum?

TNT2 16MB 4X AGP OEM $20 (it's a vanta so you've got to be REALLY hard up to have a cruddy card than my family's comp).

Actually, I think that 5200 is the NON-Ultra version (which is cruddy).

However, if you wanna buy and expensive leaf blower:

ASUS V9900TD GeForce FX 5800 128MB w/ TV-Out $478

at CC (note that this in the NON Ultra version).

Gonna be a collectors item as only about 5 of them were ever made
