- Location: Stuck in the past, in a land far away.
- Kylin - You pull up on your X-Wing's flight yoke, trying to avoid a collision with the tail end of the frigate. Your Piloting skill is 4D+1 + 3D for maneuverability = 7D+1. You are avoiding a starship, debris, and a small asteroid. This is a difficult maneuver. You must beat 16. You get 22. The X-Wing performs with its classic reliability and you manage to slip through the debris cloud unscathed, and miss the asteroid by a large margin. Having completed the turn you head to the jump point. The lights of the frigate that had been flickering for a moment gain their steady glow, and your ship's threat display indicates that something is targeting you.
- Garmen - You continue working hurriedly on the sensors, and after a few seconds you manage to bring them back online.
- Rava - Looking at Ilon, you ask,
and then watching the frigate bleading air and fire into space,
Ilon responds to you, a cocky smile on his face,
and after checking the sensors again,
- Ka - You watch Garmen, silently reassuring the group that he isn't going to kill everyone on your watch.
- Ilon - A cocky smile forms as you speak to Rava,
You check the sensors again, but see nothing. After a moment they reactivate and you scan the frigate. Your mech skill is 4D+1 +3D for focussed sensors + 1D for Garmen's upgrade = 8D+1. You get 25. The sensors show that the frigate has no maneuvering ability, deminished speed, but that it still has teeth.
You fly the fire spray through the open corridor in the asteroids that the frigate is attempting to block, and the gunners take a shot at the ship's port side.
Gunner # 1 fires his cannon. His mech skill is 3D + 2D fire control. The frigate is a large target at short range. This is a very easy shot. He gets 11. The shot hits the frigate's shields for 4D damage Starfighter scale [23]. The frigate defends with 4D Hull, + 1D damaged port shields capital scale modified + 6D = 11D [19].
The ship is lightly damaged, and the status worsens to severely damaged, the turret on top of the ship is lit up as energy plays across its surface and it is rendered inoperative.
Gunner # 2 fires. His mech skill is also 3D + 2D for fire control = 5D. He gets 16, making the easy shot. The shot does 4D damage against 11D defense [14] vs [46]. the shot is dissipated by the shields.
Athena walks in,
Camon is not on a collision course, he is above you.
- Athena - Deciding that you would rather see what is happening you go to the cabin. When you see the scene before you, and many many rocks getting much closer you ask Ilon a very reasonable question,
- Nagta - Athena leaves the room, Ka stands near Garmen who looks pleased with himself, and Cale and the others are minding their own business.
- Camon - You bring your A-Wing around for a pass, firing. You shoot the frigate but don't cause any damage.
- Cale - You sit in the cargo hold minging your own business, not that anything going on right now isn't your business.
- Pirate Fighter Pilots - They both shoot at the frigate.
The Dagger pilot hits the frigate. No damage.
The Dianoga pilot hits the frigate with his Ion cannon. No damage.
Enemy Actions
Kylin: The starbord gunner fires at you.
Ilon: The port gunner fires at you.
The lower gunner fires at the Dianonga
The next post will be Tuesday October 26.
- Garmen - You continue working hurriedly on the sensors, and after a few seconds you manage to bring them back online.
- Rava - Looking at Ilon, you ask,
is everything all right?
and then watching the frigate bleading air and fire into space,
looks like we dont have toi worry about them anymore.
Ilon responds to you, a cocky smile on his face,
That's a shame, I was looking forward to a good fight. Just make sure button boy doesn't hurt my ship...I'd like for all systems to be up and running for our escape,
and after checking the sensors again,
Our Jedi has been kind enough to inform me of a weakness in the corvette's shielding system, concentrate all fire on their port side as soon as we are within range.

You are not really going to try to fly through anasteroid field are you?

Now that I've improved the sensor root file, I smile to myself and move onto fire control. all the while humming contentedely. I will still be using Sellia for this.

Noticing that Garmen is finishing one task and moving on to another, I take him by the arm and sit him in a chair on the wall furthest away from any computer terminals.
I inform him that he shouldn't mess around with things that aren't his, and tell him to sit tight untill we land. I take the device he keeps talking to away from him, and put it down on the seat next to me (but not Garmen) as I sit beside him. I say "I'll hang on to this, and if you can stay out of trouble until we land, I just might give it back."

- Garmen - You hum contentedly as you move on to the Fire control system. A prompt appears on the screen of your datapad. Sellia has been talking to the ship's computer.
Ka has approached you from behind, and he tries to get you up and away from the computer terminal by picking you up by the arm.
You must make an opposed strength roll and beat Ka to continue working on the computer, but the struggle will end your actions for this round. Your strength is 3D. You get a six on the wild, for a total of 18. Ka's Strength is 2D. He gets 9.
You shrug off Ka's grasp and try to continue with your work. The prompt is still waiting for your response.
- Ka - Ka, you take the opportunity to try to move Garmen away from the computer terminal. He is humming to himself, but does not notice your approach until you put your hand on his arm. You try to lead him away from the terminal, but he doesn't want to move.
You must make an opposed strength roll and beat Garmen to move him away from the computer, but the struggle will end your actions for this round. Your strength is 2D. 9. Garmen's Strength is 3D. He gets 18.
Your attempt to move Garmen away from the computer has failed, and he turns back to whatever it was he was doing. You manage to get a glimpse of his datapad, and see the prompt to shut down the weapons.
- Kylin - Noticing that your threat indicator has confirmed a target lock on your ship you juke to avoid the incoming shot. The starbord gunner has a skill of 2D+2 + 2D+1 for Fire control = 4D+3. [15]Your Starfighter Piloting is 4D+1, no bonus because you are not doing a full dodge. [16]
You shift your X-Wing to the right, accellerating. The cockpit lights up and a pair of lasers flashes past you between the s-foils and impacts on a nearby asteroid. The hunk of rock and ice shatters, the ice evapourating and freezing again in an instant.
- Rava - The chairs in the cockpit are occupied by Ilon and the gunners, and there is no place for you to sit. As you start to speak to Ilon, you notice a red light flashing on his HUD, and a high pitched warning sound. You recognize it as a weapons lock, it looks like the lock has been active too long, and there is no way that the gunner will miss. Ilon doesn't move. The tone grows shriller, and more ominous, only a fraction of a second has passed, but it seems like an eternity. Finally Ilon makes his move.
- Camon - You bring your A-Wing around, ready to make a break for it now that everyone has passed the Frigate.
- Nagta - You see Ka try to move Garmen, to no avail, and then his face gets a slight look of concern.
- Athena - After a moment of listening to an alarm, Ilon jukes the Firespray to avoid getting shot.
- Cale - Time passes slowly as you wait for something to happen.
- Ilon - The threat indicator has been glowing red for a terribly long time, and there is little chance that the gunner will miss at this range if you don't move. You hesitate for a moment as Rava begins to speak, and you hear what he says, but only up to "button-happy friend." Finally you pull up on the flight yoke to avoid the incoming shot. The port gunner has a skill of 2D+2 + 2D+1 fire control. [18] Your piloting skill for the Firespray is 6D+1, [23]. You put the Firespray into a climb and level out again after the shot passes by. You are putting some distance between you and the Frigate, but you are not ot of weapons range yet.
- Dianoga Pilot - He sees that he's being fired upon and tries to dodge. He makes it.
- The Frigate's Position (All Pilots see this on sensors)- The frigate has drifted closer to the edge of the clearing, and is rolling in an uncontrolled spiral. The front of the ship is facing your general direction, putting you in the full cover of all of its remaining guns.
The next post will be Saturday October 30. Extra incentive not to cause trouble. Everyone is to post, it is a new round.
Editing the fire control root file will require a complete weapons shutdown. Do you wish to proceed?

seeing as there is really nothing for me to do here and Ilon seems to be doing a good job of not getting us killed I walk to where I left Garmen

- Athena - You walk back to your seat and put your seatbelt on. Garmen is glaring menacingly at Ka, indicating that something has happened while you were in the cockpit. Nagta looks slightly annoyed, and very bored.
- Garmen - In response to Ka's unwelcomed physical contact, you turn and glare menacingly at him. In a deliberately clear, and somewhat raised voice, you tell him,
- Kylin - You keep moving through the narrow path, and you approach the edge of the field, but the gap is narrowing. The hyperspace point is just a few klicks past the last asteroids, away from any gravitational shadows that could result in a quick and ignominious death. R4 informs you that you are out of the frigate's range. You get to the outskirts of this insane obstacle course, and notice that an asteroid twice the size of your X-Wing is crossing your path, if you can manouever around it, you'll be home free.
- Rava - Satisfied that Ilon's piloting skills are up to par, you return to the cargo hold, after Athena, to find Garmen and Ka facing off. Garmen's face shows distinct anger. His datapad is linked to the computer, and you are close enough to read the display,
- Nagta - The events in the hold are bothersome, but you ignore them. It's going to be a long trip, with little to do, and nerves will most likely be frayed by the time you reach Corellia. Athena returns to the hold, followed by Rava.
- Camon - You continue to head toward the hyperspace point. You can see the path closing ahead of you, as the asteroids return to the erratic mess that they were before the frigate cleared the way.
- Cale - Garmen turns to Ka and snaps at him, all the while giving him a glare that could strip the paint off a Star Destroyer in three seconds flat. You notice that Athena and Rava have come back into the room, and as Athena takes her seat, Rava approaches Garmen.
- Ka - Garmen turns quickly and glares at you menacingly. He speaks to you, voice raised, and with deliberate clarity,
He continues to stare at you, his datapad still waiting for the order to shut down the weapons.
- Ilon - You continue to take the firespray through the asteroid field. It is now very obvious that without the frigate's weapons to keep the way clear, the path is closing. This would have been a good trap, had Kylin's torpedos not crippled the frigate.
- Gunner 1 - He takes a shot at the Frigate. The shot impacts harmlessly against the bridge.
- Gunner 2 - He Fires at the frigate, hoping to cause some damage, but his hope is in vain.
ENEMY ACTIONS
The frigate is on a 45 degree angle facing the fighters.
The Starbord Gunner fires at the Dagger. [Skill: 2D+1 + Fire Control: 2D+2 = 4D+3] [19]
The Lower Gunner Fires at Ilon. [Skill: 2D+1 + Fire Control: 2D+1 = 4D+3] [12]
Player Reactions
- Dagger Pilot - He tries to dodge the shot, but the Dagger takes the hit from the turbo laser in the top fin. His fighter takes 4D damage + 6D for capital scale = 10D. [49] The hull of the Dagger is 2D [9]
The dagger explodes in a brilliant flash of light, diminishing into liquified metal and tiny shards that scatter throughout the asteroid field. The pirates have lost their captain.
The only player that has to react is Ironfist. I will post after he does, or I will continue on Thursday November 4, whichever comes first. I have several mid-terms this week, so after tomorrow, I won't post until Thursday.

- Ilon - Your computer beeps a warning, and you react quickly, trying to dodge the laser. Your piloting skill is 6D+1, + 1D for maneuverability = 7D+1. [29] You do a half roll, and the beam zips past you disappearing behind an asteroid. The hyperspace coordinates are set in the computer. The only thing left is to get away from the asteroid field's gravity well.
Round 3
Everyone should post now. You are at the same point that you left off in the last post.
The Next post will be Sunday, November 7. It's a shorter time than usual, but I have a lot of work to do, and I'm pretty busy on monday nights.

I glare menacingly for a few more seconds and return to my previous task, once again happily immersing myself in the recoding of the fire control protocols with the Help of Sellia.
