- Nagta - You put the remaining knife into its sheath, the sound of metal on leather reaches your ears. You look at those around you and begin flicking your claws in and out, in a rather menacing display while appearing board. Ka looks at you without fear and speaks in a mildly elevated tone,
It's a good thing you put that knife of yours away. If you had been more aggressive with it you just might have lost your hand in the process.

Athena chimes in,
Nagta, now now, don't be a school yard bully picking on the younger children. Besides, it is unbecoming for a bodyguard to act like a child, even if everyone else is.

The R2 unit comes to life. And you hear Ilon over the comm.

- Cale - Ka and Athena say their bits to Nagta. You look around, asking anyone if they know any good jokes, all the while keeping your hand on you blaster, and your eyes on Nagta. The R2 unit next to Garmen begins to beep and whir. Ilon's voice comes over the intercom.

- Ka - You raise your voice at Nagta,
It's a good thing you put that knife of yours away. If you had been more aggressive with it you just might have lost your hand in the process.

Athena chides him, and Cale asks if anyone knows any jokes. You sit with your lightsaber in hand, looking calm, and watching Nagta.
The droid next to Garmen seems to be working. You hear Ilon over the intercom asking if anyone knows what type of ship to expect.

- Garmen - You ignore everything that is going on around you and look for a way to modify the power cell. This is a moderately difficult droid repair roll. You must get 15 or more to succeed. Your Tech attribute is 4D. You roll 21. After a minute, you manage to rig up an external power supply by using adhesive strips, and some wires found in the storage bin. The droid's systems flicker to life, and it lets out a garbled astromech sigh. It seems confused for a moment, but then recognizes the men with you and calms down. It proceeds to twitter on incessantly about something, but whatever it is saying must be translated.

- Rava - You help the man up, and tell him he should be fine as long as he rests. Looking over at Garmen, your attention is drawn to the droid that is now responsive. Ilon's voice comes over the intercom, he's talking to the guests.

- Kylin - You use the Alliance secure comm channel,
R4 has confrimed that the gap is a new feature to this area. It might be nothing, but then again it might be our friends unwelcome guests. If it is a trap, I am going to attemp to spring it first. Rezzer, since you have a nav computer, could you plot us an alternate course out of here just in case? Also, can you ask our new friends what race our enemies are from. It could be important.

Starting to feel like things could get hot you give R4 some instructions,
R4, raise shields in the forward fire arc and charge and load all weapons. Keep a close watch on thouse sensors, I don't want to be caught flatfooted out here.

R4 gets to work on the deflector shields. This is an easy Starship Shields roll. R4's Mech attribute is 3D. He gets 10. The shield display shows the forward fire arc covered. He then gets to work on the sensors Using his Mech Attribute, with a -1D penalty for multiple actions = 2D + 2D for sensors using search mode = 4D. He gets 20. More detailed information begins to appear on the sensor display, but the extream range to the asteroid field and the interferance only allow him to pick up unusual power fluctuations that register as shield emissions, however, they are very unstable. Your lasers begin to power up, and you torpedo tubes indicate that you have 5 remaining.

- Ilon - You open a com channel to Kylin,
I don't like the looks of those readings, keep your eyes pealed for enemy ships.

You power up the weapons, and attempt to angle the shields. This is an easy action, and your Mech skill is 4D+1. You get 19. The shield display over the front arc turns green, indicating that the shields are up.
You call the hold on the intercom,
Does anyone back there know what kind of ship our pirate friends might be in?

You get a response from one of the men in the hold,
They are in a Corellian Support Frigate, but it's over 30 years old, and we think it's damaged. They're also short-handed.

- Athena - You chide Nagta,
Does anyone back there know what kind of ship our pirate friends might be in?

The events in the hold unfold before your eyes. Given Ilon's question, things may get very interesting.

- Camon - You power up your weapons, preparing to act as point defense for the Firespray. The info on your scanners seems too wierd to let it go.

The next post will be Thursday September 30 (after midnight).

Seeing that the droid powered up alright and is responsive, I immediately abandon it and move on to updating the ships starcharts and navigation, using Sellia where neccesary. While the charts are updating, Im going to get bored and hack further into the ships computer to see what I can improve myself. (I will make both actions if possible)

I look over at Garmen and the newly activated droid, grin to myself, and begin to whistle randomly in the droid's direction, hoping to elicit some laughs from those around me or freak Garmen out. Hopefully both.

I am going to check my equipment and make sure everything is unobstructed should i need it in a hurry (knives blasters ect)
I am going to check around Athena to make sure that nothing would fall on her in the event of a dog fight.

I flip on the com and open a channel to Kylin:

"Looks like your hole in the asteroid field could be a Corellian Support Frigate, but our friends say that it's about 30 years old so hopefully it won't pose too much of a problem. I'm manning my guns now just in case"

I Open a channel to the cargo hold using the intercom:

"Looks like we might have trouble, I need our two best gunners to get down to the blasters cannons and get them ready for a fight...any volunteers?"

I as I'm waiting I get the Nav computer to plot a new course out of the system, just in case.

I walk over to the droid and say "hey Garmen whats in the droid? We need the info?"
if he keep walking away I say to the group "Anyone here know how to get the info out of this thing?" and I also follow Garmen to make sure he does nothing stupid that would make Ilon mad

If he stops to help the droid again then I wait for the info and give it to Ilon ASAP

(sorry about late post)

To Razzor:
"Roger that, still waiting on species info. I am going to run ahead and see if I trip a trap. If I do, the rest of you High Tail it out of here on the alternate vector. I am sending the 'Old notes' I found on hoth to you over a secure channel."

To R4:
"Send the CoreSec codes to Rezzor over a secure link. Also be ready to jump to light speed as soon as possible. I doubt that they will have an interdictor, so we sould not have any problems.

I am going to upload the Codes needed to R4, he will then transmit them to Rezzor. I will then continue into the heart to the possible trap in order to spring it before the others arive.

- Garmen - You abandon the droid and go over to the terminal in the wall near the cockpit door, trying to update the star charts. This requires a moderate Computer Programming roll. Your Skill is 6D+1. You get 28. After searching a few key menu functions in the computer interface you bring up the ship's update menu. By following a few easy steps you upload the new star charts into the Nav computer. You then move on to hacking the ship's computer. In each of the menus there is an option for manual editing of the root files. The menus are, [i]Fire Control, Navigation, Life Support, Sensors, Cargo Hold Door.[i] While you are deciding hat you want to play with, Rava approaches,
Hey Garmen whats in the droid? We need the info?

Cale whistles, and the droid buzzes at him.
He then asks around if anyone can help.

- Cale - You whistle in the droid's direction and it responds with a harsh buzz that you can only guess at, but it's obvious that the droid does't find your attempt at humour amusing. Maybe if its innerds weren't hanging out. Rava asks around,
Anyone here know how to get the info out of this thing?

Ilon speaks over the intercom.
Looks like we might have trouble, I need our two best gunners to get down to the blasters cannons and get them ready for a fight...any volunteers?

Two of the strangers head over to the cockpit.

- Nagta - You check out your equipment, making sure that it is all easily accessible, and then look around to make sure that nothing will fall on Athena. There is nothing in the hold other than the crate of gear on the other side of the room, and everyone except Ilon. Two of the strangers jump up from their seats and head for the cockpit in response to Ilon's request.

- Ilon - After a second you call Kylin over the comm,
Looks like your hole in the asteroid field could be a Corellian Support Frigate, but our friends say that it's about 30 years old so hopefully it won't pose too much of a problem. I'm manning my guns now just in case.

You get a response from Kylin,
Roger that, still waiting on species info. I am going to run ahead and see if I trip a trap. If I do, the rest of you High Tail it out of here on the alternate vector. I am sending the 'Old notes' I found on hoth to you over a secure channel.

Your computer display shows that you are receiving two files on a coded frequency. You see Kylin's X-Wing a little ahead of you going straight for the gap in the asteroid field. You get on the intercom,
Looks like we might have trouble, I need our two best gunners to get down to the blasters cannons and get them ready for a fight...any volunteers?

You set the Nav somputer to plot a new course out of the system, and two men come into the cockpit.
We should be able to help.

- Rava - Noticing that Garmen is moving away, you try to get his attention,
Hey Garmen whats in the droid? We need the info?

He is doing something with the computer, you ask around if anyone can help,
Anyone here know how to get the info out of this thing?

Two men leave the hold in response to Ilon, and one of the others that stays behind suggests that you try to plug the droid into the computer or a datapad to get text info.

- Kylin - Ilon's voice comes over the comm with some important info,
Looks like your hole in the asteroid field could be a Corellian Support Frigate, but our friends say that it's about 30 years old so hopefully it won't pose too much of a problem. I'm manning my guns now just in case.

You respond,
Roger that, still waiting on species info. I am going to run ahead and see if I trip a trap. If I do, the rest of you High Tail it out of here on the alternate vector. I am sending the 'Old notes' I found on hoth to you over a secure channel,

and then speak to R4,
Send the CoreSec codes to Rezzor over a secure link. Also be ready to jump to light speed as soon as possible. I doubt that they will have an interdictor, so we sould not have any problems.

The droid beeps as you give it the codes, and you get a signal that the info is being transmitted. You continue the flight into the heart of the gap. You can make out smaller asteroids now, as opposed to a long blurry line. You are nearly at the spot where you predict an ambush, and still nothing has shown itself.

- Camon - You continue to fly escort for the Firespray, with the other two fighters on either side of you.

- Athena - Nagta begins checking the area out to make sure that there are no internal hazards. Ilon's voice comes over the intercom, and several men go to the cockpit.

- Ka - You sit with your saber in hand, observing the area around you. Things seem to be getting more tense, but not because of Nagta.

Oblivious to the whistling of Cale and Rava, I begin to edit the file Sensor root file in an attempt to improve the efficiency and clarity of the sweeps... After that, I'll move on to Fire control.

I will go over to Garmen and attempt to return his attention to the droid, gently reminding him that it potentially contains valuable information which only he can retrieve.

Seeing what Cale is up to (and we do need the info) I thank garmen for getting it working but tell him there is one lasst thing we need from it and it will only take a second..

If he does not do it I will try and find the tech guy from the other group and ask him for his help in this matter..

- Camon - Having been a little board with the lack of excitement, you prepare for whatever awaits you as you fly in formation with the Firespray, Dianoga, and Dagger.

- Garmen - You ignore Cale and Rava's attempt to get you to work on the droid, and proceed to edit the sensors root file. You have access to the main systems, and do not have to bypass any security protocols. Improving the sensor root file will take five minutes, and has a difficulty of difficult to improve the sensors 1D. You must beat 20 to improve the sensors. Your computer programming and repair skill is 6D+1. You get 21. You are successful at modifying the sensors, but they go off-line while you are editing the files.

If you stop editing the files before the five minutes is up the sensors will remain off-line until you return and finish the five minutes. You can attempt to speed up your work by beating an additional difficulty roll of very difficult or heroic to do it in half the time if you so desire, but failure to beat the difficulties will negate your successful roll from this turn.

- Cale - You move closer to Garmen, and try to draw his attention to the droid, but he remains completely oblivious to you as he works on the ship's computer.

- Rava - you try to assist Cale in getting Garmen to go back to work on the droid, but he doesn't listen. He's messing with the ship's computer. Seeing that your efforts are futile, you get the pirate tech guy to help you with the droid. He agrees, and tries to get the info from the droid. All that is necessary is to plug the droid into the data terminal on a datapad. The man does this and some text scrolls accross the screen. The droid wonders what information you are trying to retrieve from it.

- Ka - You continue to try and be comfortable, and to instill a feeling of calm among those who are cooped up in the cargo hold. You notice that Garmen is once again getting into the ship's main computer, and that Rava and the tech guy have gotten something from the droid.

- Kylin - While approaching the gap in the asteroid field, you prepare for an ambush. You reach the very edge of the field and a green light streaks over your head from the left. R4 reports that there is a large contact on sensors to your right. He IDs it as a Corellian Support Frigate with weapons powered. It had been hiding among some larger asteroids that had masked it from your sensors earlier, but the power emissions have given you it's exact location.

- Athena - Things look like they are shaping up. Rava and the tech guy have managed to translate something the droid has said. Ka is trying to keep everyone calm, and Garmen looks like he's off in his own world. What could go wrong?

- Nagta - The group seems relatively calm now. The droid is working and communicating, and Ka is trying to keep everyone calm. With a bit of luck you'll be at Corellia in just over a week.

- Ilon - You continue to follow Kylin while plotting a new course out of the system. You instruct the Nav computer to prepare for a micro jump to get you out of the system, and give you a chance to get on track. It will take two minutes for the new heading to be plotted. You are nearing the asteroids along with your fighter support. Your sensors suddenly go dead. If you will be going through the asteroids you will be doing it without the benefit of sensors. It looks like the gap in the field is your only viable option, and now you see a flash of energy fly from behind a pair of large asteroids over the bow of Kylin's ship. Definately an ambush.
