"Although she looks like any other puppy-fat-addled mini-human, Tyanna Madsen is thought to be the strongest little girl in the world. In her first regional weightlifting competition in Des Moines, IA, the local 6-year-old dead-lifted 101 pounds. That's equivalent to a baby cow. While her 12 and 13-year-old brothers watch TV, the 62-pounder trains every Satruday under the eye of her father, Jeff. He was the 2001 national power-lifting champion and isn't pushy in the slightest."
" 'We take it slowly,' Papa Madsen explains. ' We normally start with 68 pounds, a little more than she weighs, and go up five pounds at a time.' Pediatric groups have warned that power-lifting can cause muscle strain and bone fractures in kids, but Tyanna's life in the gym isn't all work and no play. 'I found a spider on here the other day,' Tyanna says gleefully, pointing to a 10-pound weight on the ground."
I still say it's gonna stunt her growth.
