Another Star Wars RPG opening soon.
Hey all,
I'm going to be starting another RPG very soon. It will be set at the end of the Rebellion era, but before the New Republic. The exact time is between one and a half, to two years after the Battle of Endor. Things are almost ready to begin the game, and I hope to start within the next week, maybe two, depending on how fast people respond to this post.
I am using D6 rules
There is plenty of room for characters. I will allow up to two jedi (first come, first serve). If there are any special requests for character types/species that you are unsure about just PM me with your questions and I'll get back to you. I'll also post the templates in the game forum once it opens.
The character creation rules are the same as Ironfist's game, so Humans get 18D for attributes, and 7D for skills.
If you want to play send me a message with your character info and I will keep it on file until the forum opens.

Ok, this is a long one, but I think it should explain how I want to work with the Jedi characters.
I will let the Jedi Characters start off fairly advanced. In this time period Luke Skywalker has not yet established his academy on Yavin IV. Neither Jedi can be a "master" but I think that a detailed background about Luke using your characters as preliminary students before the academy opens would warrant some more advanced force powers. The Jedi characters are essentially on leave from official training while Luke seeks other force adepts. That way, between missions the characters may seek training under Luke's direction, thus automatically giving the characters a master to learn new abilities from.
The force abilities will be chosen as follows:
The player will be given a 1D bonus to Control. In addition 1D from the 18D for attributes must be spent into Control. Of the 7D for skills 1D will be split into 2D and put into Control and Sense.
This gives Control: 3D
Sense: 1D
If the player chooses, then additionally 1D from the remaining 6D can be spent into the Sense ability. This does have drawbacks, as that is 1D less for general skills.
If the player wishes to specialize any of the skills they must still spend 1D to turn into the 3D for specializations. This leaves only 4D for skills, reflecting that the character has spent much of their time trying to hone their force abilities, to the neglect of other skills.
The characters will be given the Lightsaber Combat ability, and two powers, one from control and sense.
Note for all characters: Please include your home world in your character write-up, so I can work on possible "developments". This is especially important for Jedi Characters, as Jedi from certain regions of space were known to excel in some abilities, while lacking in others. I will not say what and where (a person can't choose where they are born), but I will tell you what effect your home world has had on your abilities (if any) when you have created your character. This quirk is explained somewhat in the book I Jedi, if anyone is interested in finding out what I'm talking about.
I will also give each Jedi a lightsaber, Damage = 5D, built with a variation of the lightsaber construction rules that are posted in the rules section of Ironfist's game. I will essentially choose some things, and randomly determine others.
Given the fact that Jedi characters are somewhat advanced I will allow non-Jedi characters to have 8D to spend on skills. I will also allow the 1D for specializations to be split into 4D as opposed to 3D.
Note for TSB: I will reserve the second Jedi Character for you, I assume that's what you want. I think that I'm being pretty generous with the force abilities that I'm allowing the Jedi to start with, but they do still have to be somewhat balanced, so I made skill tradeoffs. If you don't want to be a Jedi please post here so that someone else may take the position.
If there are any questions about these new rules, please post them.

Send me your character profile as a PM. I will keep it on file until Bob gets my game forum up, and then I will post them in the characters section.
To create your character just follow the normal steps, but use the modifications from the post above. When Bob has created the new section I will post more of the specific rules, as well as other important information. There will be a section in the forum for suggestions about various ships, weapons, equipment, and rules. If anyone has any suggestions for the game, post them there as soon as possible (once the forum opens) with the stats, and the source you got it from.
Bob said he would have the forum up in a few days, but he's been pretty busy working lately, so I'm not going to bug him, too much. Once I have posted all of the relevant information I will PM people with specific info/knowledge that theire character should know at the beginning of the mission (if any).

My curiousity is peaked... What sort of restrictions are we putting on Non-Jedi Characters here? Anything we wont be able to play, template wise?
Nature is bountiful where idiots are concerned
No, they arent breasts, they're personalities, because its ok to like a girl for her personalities
It takes a big man to cry, but it takes a bigger man to laugh at that man
