Apparently it can actually run Q3. Atleast that's what Bob implied to me earlier.

If you can find a version of Quake 3 for Sparc machines, then it might be able to... But I very much doubt that you could get more than 25 frames out of it...

I think they were running it in Linux after removing the JavaOS.

Quake should run on it for sure. Heck, I showed Homey B a version that ran on Unix that replaced all the textures with ASCII. Running Quake on a Javastation shouldn't even break a sweat.

does not have to be a SPARC version. Quake3 would be running on the remote server, through an X-Client. The server would be doing all the hard work.

What I am really looking into is the videoLAN project, they have relesed SPARC packages. I think that this thing would make a great TV-Top machine!

Heck, now that I think about it, there's prolly a version of Quake that runs on the Altaire 8800.

Well, maybe not.
