Just a Note:

All the specforce personel have comlinks, this does not include Shintu or Sorall. The troop transport also contains 2 speeder bikes, belonging to Marius and Lieut. Sorne.

correct me if I'm wrong, but the lightsaber coming out is Paul's action for the turn, and Matt's character hasn't seen it yet right? If so, he can't duck out of the way.

Right, that is technically true. Everyone should try not to respond to each others posts with their first post since technically all of these actions happen at the same time.
On the other hand each scene spans a few minuites, if Matt wants to perform the first part of his post while Liox is "motioning to the two people to step back from the cock-pit", "grabing my lightsaber off of my belt" and "carefuly positioning" and then "duck for cover" after Liox takes out his saber that would probably be ok, since the actions he is taking wouldn't take that much time.

I recomend that everyone post without reading each others posts. If you then see that another character is doing somthing that will effect you, you can post again if you like. (Although I will post the next scene as soon as everyone has posted once, so if you are going to do this you must be quick on the draw.)

would it have been better if said that "he was going to use his preception to see paul doing his action so he could duck"

Second would you not normaly role all of our persecption to determine if we know what the others are doing in a situation like this?

That is actually true, each player rolls their perception to see who gets to do their actions first, but I tend to be light on that rule unless the actions are directly effecting each other.

The rule book says that the absorb/dissipate energy ability can be used to absorb light. Does this mean that I can use the power to absorb sunlight (thus the light doesn't reflect off me) and appear to be a shadow so that I'm difficult to see if I stand in the shadows, and even harder to see if I'm also actively hiding? (I think there is a species that has this ability to begin with, so I'm assuming that it's not impossible)

Sorry, but I am going to have to say no on this one. The rule book dosen't mention it anywhere and I can't find an online source that supports letting this ability have that effect.
If you were an expert force user (ie. Had more D in Control)I might consider it but I think that for right now it is beyond the ability of your character.
