The First Passion of the Christ Fatality,

While many people crowded theatres for the first night's showing of The Passion of the Christ, one woman in East Wichita, Kansas never got a chance to see how the movie ends. The woman in her late fifties collapsed during one of the violent scenes of Christ's crucifixion. The movie was stopped and nurses in the audience did CPR on the woman. She died later at the hospital.

Man that sucks! Now the papers are gonna say that Mel Gibson is trying to kill people with heart attacks or shock by the movies graphic effects.

That is too bad. I've been planning to see it for months. I've heard from a few people who have seen it that they had to leave at some points because it was so graphic. They won't show it in my home town until March 12, so I'll probably see it when I'm back at school this week.

if the woman had a creative enough imagination, she should also have died when reading the Bible. Gibson didn't add any gore to the story, so it's not his fault. That's like someone blaming Peter Jackson because they passed out after seeing a hobbit's foot.

I think that the gore was necessary to get the point across. If somebody just gave Jesus a rugburn, and said - 'wow, he took a rugburn for me'
Well, it just doesn't have the same effect, does it.

no kidding, plus from what they show in the movie, i honestly don't think any normal human being would be able to go under that much pain and suffering and still live. They would go into shock or something.

You'd be surprised what a normal person can withstand. Yes the torture that Jesus was put through was harsh by today's standards, it was fairly routine in Roman times, and many people survived it.

it was a good movie.. one i think everyone should see.. even if you dont do the whole god jesus thing.,. still a really good movie..

Many? Some, but I doubt many (though, it's a relative term).

Haven't seen it yet, but from what I've gathered it leaves out something I think is rather important--the actual resurrection of Christ. Correct me if I'm wrong on that.

If they don't show it....................well, at least there's room for a sequel.

From what I've heard, the movie was very graphic and quite accurate along those lines, but not an overly good movie. I havent had a chance to see it yet, but I probably wont until its released on DVD.

Well it does depict the last 12 hours of his life, not his resurection

Regardless of that fact, they set out to make a movie about the last 12 hours of his life - and they did that.
If Mel had wanted it to be about the resurection it would have been.
