How much do you think this conversion cost? A real SLR costs 500k American. I would say they probably only have about 150k into the replica, that is a pretty big price difference.

Note the defects in the mods and the fact that the entire car is pretty much bondo. Also, I think it's a Chev V8 which isn't exactly a Benz........at least by my standards. Don't get me wrong..........it's a shell of the actual car, but it's still just a shell. You get what you pay for.

(even though I'd never pay that much for the actual one.....sometimes the most expensive option isn't the best one).

That is a great video!

Actually, I saw a car very similar to this one at MOPAR fest in 1998. From the front it looked like a normal k-car but once you got closer and saw the slicks on the back and the NOS in the trunk, you quickly started to realize that this one was a little different.

I wonder how those two cars would have done against each other on the quarter. Battle of the suped up k-car's.

I think this kind of modification should be a goal for you Paul, the crumpletron is even smaller and lighter than a k-car, that thing could really fly.

The only problem is that I can't think of any small turboed ford motors, you might have to put a GM or Chrystler drive train in it, but I think it would be worth it.

Chris is the one who should be doing this. He all ready has a K-car. Plus, seeing as how I ripped apart his dash with my bare hands, it'll be easy to remove excess weight.

Did ya hear the turbo on the K-car in the movie. I think that was the first indication that the car was a lil' special.

The Focus has 2 turbo versions (European), but I *think* the one is a diesel (though, I have seen impressive diesel crotch rockets).

The Escorts had a turbo version. Here's proof:

I had no idea they made an escort turbo, that would be a great motor for the crumpletron. I bet they are pretty hard to find though.
