Matrix Revolutions

Post by Paragon »

To celebrate my 80th post, I'm opening discussion on the Matrix. Because I know that the Matrix and Reloaded kick ass! Nobody say what the plot of Revolutions is, or I will have to find and possibly kill you. (the Jew might have some suggestions)
Fear can hold you prisoner. Hope can set you free.

While this should prolly go in the Movie section, we'll prolly get off topic so we might as well leave it here ;)

If you do want the plot, go search the Movie section cuz I posted a link to it.

Since I know what happens, I'll just say this: I hope the movie executes it better than the description I read.

Here's to watching this Friday (Gen[M]ay is meeting at Union Station to go see it at Paramount if you guys happen to be in T.O.)!

Actually, Reloaded was a bloated pile of crap. The effects were lame, the fight scenes were badly done and the plot was weak.

Sure sounds like the making of a great movie to me....

Watched Revolutions yesterday and I gotta say it was way different than I thought. Instead of sucking ass it sucks a mountain of ass. A BFD of ass! A star destroyer sized pile o' ass. It and Reloaded bend the first matrix over a table and have thier way with it. Terrible, just terrible. I'm never going to by reloaded or revolutions on dvd. Im just going to get the first one and after Neo flies off there's nothing else. I'll just assume that everything went according to plan. Bloody awful. See Scott Kutz's review at http://www.pvponline.com/rants.php3
When Steven Seagal kills a ninja, he only takes its hide. When Chuck Norris kills a ninja, he uses every part.

Chuck Norris and Mr. T walked into a bar. The bar was instantly destroyed, as that level of awesome cannot be contained in one building.

BLASPHEMER!!!
Revolutions made perfect sense. You just didn't get it. It's not supposed to be a happy ending. That's not how it works. All they get is another chance, and if either side screws it up, back to square one. Some of the effects were a little odd, but they're fighting in a computer simulation. Not everything is programmed for.

My take on the whole thing.

W. bros take a somewhat interesting idea, for example, let's use Buzz's moon saying of "Magnificent desolation." They then encrypt that idea using an enigma machine. The audience is left decoding the message. When they're done decoding said message, they're left with a fairly novel idea (Buzz's phrase). However, the presentation of the phrase on its own was enough; the encryption only makes a novel idea difficult to understand.

Yes, it was good; 12 monkeys did the same idea before, though (and I still like the first one the best).

p.s. This really should be moved to the movie section.

I just got back from revolutions and I have to say that I was really disappointed with it. I gave reloaded a chance because it still had revolutions to make everything pay off, and now that it hasn't, both movies are worse for it. The only part of the movie that was good was the middle, and this is only because I never expected anything from it. The beginning was slow and useless, and it destroyed the potential that reloaded gave us for somthing cool and mind blowing to happen. The ending was lame, and made me feel like both of these movies served no real purpose.
The first one was great, in concept and execution, but it's really too bad they didn't actually go anywhere with it in the second two.
All in all reloaded was better than revolutions and I think if I rated them it would go somthing like this.
The Matrix - 9.0
Reloaded - 7.0
Revolutions - 6.0
(all ratings out of 10)

I also liked it, but I have a thought behind it why they made it the way they did.

Granted, the first Matrix was the best.

I am with IronFist on this one. Revolutions destroyed the Second movie. However, I give the thrid one alot lower score.
