I am pleased to say that the message board is back on line and KalNet is back in Business. Thats right you can ditch Facebook! lol

Anyway, I took this opportunity to upgrade to phppBB3, and I think I have every thing in order. If you notice anything amiss, please let me know.

Some of you may have noticed the downtime that the server as been experiencing over the last few days. This is related to fact that an error seams to have developed on the hard disk.

I had hoped that this error was the result of a heat/drive cable problem. Sadly this was not the case. I am now ...

The server has experienced a lapse for downtime. This is related to the installation of a new UPS for the Server and Modem. While installing this unit it was necessary to power down both Modem and Server. Upon restarting the network it was discovered the IP address had changed.

Update: The download section of the Message board has been moved to its new domain at kalnetfiles. There should be no visible change in message board operation aside from the URL in the address bar.

Anyone who has used what I have affectionately come to refer as the Beta Archives will have noticed that no one is allowed to upload to the server. This has been inconvenient since many people would like to do this.

The reason that this has not been possible is due in main part to the bandwidth ...

Work is coming along well. I have almost Finished the Forum structure and in some cases, I am uploading files.

Some Sections are on-line now. The signal that the database is fully enabled will be the appearance of the Download icon at the top of the message board.

I have installed the download mod, and I am currently testing and syncing it with the KNF data base. I will be bringing the system fully on-line in a few days at the most. Thank you for you patients

I have made it possible to link picture from the Albums into post. They will now be displayed in the actual posts.

I have finished installing the new draft MOD. This MOD will be useful if you are typing a long post and have to leave in a hurry. You can access saved drafts by clicking on "View your drafts and posts", which is found in the Top Right Hand corner of the message board.

This MOD seams to be working, I recommend that you disable the auto check anyway. It was not intended to be mandatory, only as a check if you think you have a few words wrong.
