Should not the operating system handle the application crash without it self dying? Would this not be the mark of a stable operating system?

if you installed windows with no other applications. no other ones, it should run great, but there's no point in running just windows and nothing else.

Well then the programers that programed the apps never took the time to make it bug free.

That is beside the point. A bug in a thrid party application should not interfear with the operation of the Operating System.

If a bug in the app causes it to crash why does that cause windows to crash? Why not just kill the process and contiune normally?

KDE is a perfect example of this, I have found bugs you could drive a bus through. When my display become unseable I switch to another console and Send the KILL 9 sig and restart KDE, then it's back to normal.

Wow, talk about eating shit and calling it cake. I cant believe that you people will eat this up and not even think twice about how an operating system works...

Well I guess we all cant have discerning minds that questions things...

I agree with Bob. The whole point of an OS is to be able to control programs from the OS, just not inside the programs. We're supposed to be able to kill a program from the OS and not have it crash the computer.

Stupid microshaft. You crash now!
