No, there is a distinct difference. Mods are free addons for a game. An expansion is something you buy. True, Valve often blurs the lines, but here there's is no such difficulty.

True, but we only get it partially. No cd-key for online play.

Yeah, if you use a "we get it for free, so therefore it's a mod" argument, then hey... half the games I have are mods. "Hey man, do you have that Elite Force mod for Quake III? They did some pretty crazy stuff with that!" Etc.

Nope Jason is right. Gray and I installed it last night and you have to run it seperate from Battlefeild.
Therefor it is a expansion
