KTPPG: August 7th

Just saw this:

Here comes an exciting development @ KTPPG! Bring your kids! Bring your Wife! It's beginner's night!
Fire power is lower and slower to ease the N00BS into the sport. More experienced players are welcome providing they respect the level that it's geared for. A few examples: no automatic or ramping modes, no first strikes, and teams may be assigned in order to keep them fair. Anything else deemed "too high leveled" could also be dis-allowed.
If you need equipment or paint, please contact Dave @ 519-424-2446 for prices. Dave has access to a lot of spares to use for free on a first come, first served basis. Let him know if you need a set of gear.

Any reason for the cautions? Was something said after the last Tuesday game?

I guess, aside from the First Strike thing, I don't see how the rules are any different than the usual at KTPPG. Unless now we're allowing automatic and ramping on Sundays?

Just confused. It happens.

Quite a bit ;)

Dave requested it be laid out in plain English. Also, we can run whatever mode we want on Sundays as long as everyone involved agrees, which would rarely happen. The limits for modes are set as a blanket rule for everyone all the time. If 4 of us are alone and want to ramp, why not?

I guess these are my comments in regards to these 2 statements:

1. How is respect defined? Ie. what was the problem?

2. Set a standard and stick with it. Rolling scales suck as no one can agree what's high end or low end. If firepower is a concern make it a gravity league, no batteries, pumps only, etc. Once it's decided, just stick with (*cough*axe with a gravity hopper*cough*).

Admittedly, these suggestions have little weight to me personally as my odds of attending the Tuesday nights are slim, but the vagueness just seems like eventually some people are going to get p!ssy as the two parties interpret a rule/suggestion differently.

I had fun last Tuesday and thought everyone else did. I hope I'm not mistaken in that.

Dave just wants his crew to enjoy the night and not be scared out of paintball before they get in.

I think the comments we had over Skype sum up my thoughts on it:

1. Limit firepower

or

2. Limit people who play

Choose one, the other, or both.
