Clarification On The Rules

Hey, I've been sending out invites to people for playing this summer, but some are confused about this part of the rules:

Assisted Firing/Full Auto:The use of E-Triggers or Response Triggers is currently banned. Because of the nature of the field and the modes we play which often involve close quarters combat, blind corners, and suprise assaults fully automatic fire is not allowed. If you have a gun with full auto mode you must use it in semi-auto mode while playing on the field.

If I'm to understand the rules correctly, the rules are just trying to state no ramping, response trigger, or full auto correct? I'm guessing that because myself, dude dating Homey J's sister, eight_ender, and a few others all have electronic guns.

People I'm inviting are confused because the two bolded statements seem to contradict each other. Would this be an acceptable phrasing?

Assisted Firing/Full Auto:The use of ramping/full auto E-Triggers or Response Triggers is currently banned. Because of the nature of the field and the modes we play which often involve close quarters combat, blind corners, and suprise assaults ramping/fully automatic fire is not allowed. If you have a gun with ramping/response/full auto mode you must use it in semi-auto only mode while playing on the field.

It would clear up a lot of confusion while remaining true to the spirit of the rule. Thoughts?

Yeah clarifying that rule would be good. It would be useful to see some practical suggestions for adapting an e-grip to conform with those rules. I'm not as aware of the internal mechanisms of markers as others appear to be.

I just turned mine way down so the repeat is probably slower than someone who didn't have the same tech on the gun.

Yeah, mine comes with a tourney lock so it's easy to set. It's a jumper inside the handle that you set before you play. Nobody's asked, but I'd be willing to set it to semi-auto and then just lock it on that. The default modes on mine are just semi, millenium, and psp. I'd just set it to semi, jumper, and done-zo.

I don't think it's an issue as all are adhering to the spirit of the rule. I'd just like clarification for when I send out an invite, that's all.

No need for clarification or......? I don't understand "it" within your statement.

I think clarification is needed simply because electronic doesn't mean full auto or ramping. Heck, if the spirit of the rule is to limit rate of fire (ROF) only these options should be allowed:

1. Pump
2. Pistol
3. Electronic

Why electronic? Because you can cap the ROF (ie. 10bps or lower), you can make sure it's semi only, and you can physically enable that with a tourney lock (ie. jumper). You can't do that with a purely mechanical gun. Assuming electronics automatically mean a high ROF is akin to one assuming that all carbureted cars drove as fast as a Model T. Which, if I have to point it out, is simply ridiculous.

All the Tippmanns/BT's in our group could all potentially legally exceed the spirit of the rule by installing a Double Trouble or Quadzilla trigger. Mechanical only guns can easily do 10 bps without a reactive trigger. Hell, even pumps can do 9 bps.

Autococker 2k5 doing 10bps

CCM S6 doing 9bps

Goldwave it for verification if you want.

I'm just asking for clarification in the rules so that when I invite people I can just give them the link for the rules and not get a boatload of questions that I need to answer ad nauseum. The general consensus has been that electronics operating in stricly semi-auto are allowed (ie. Homey J's sister's guy, eight_ender, myself, Dave, and others). The statement is just unclear, that's all.

I'm just asking for clarification. I believe my modified statement gives it. Thoughts?

This is a language modification of the rule as it currently sits. Electronic triggers are allowed, but only in their semi-auto mode.

Right, that's basically what I'm saying. It can be summed up:

"One trigger with one pull means one ball shot."

I believe that's the spirit of the rule. Right now, I just believe it's convoluted. I'll admit the above statement ignores grenade launchers mounted under guns with a separate trigger (ie. one trigger part of the rule). However, since we're allowed to carry sidearms (ie. more than one trigger on the field at the same time) and I don't think anybody would argue that going "Boondock Saints" style would be totally awesome, I don't see it as an issue. Those special cases are up to Homey B.

Thanks for the clarification. It's appreciated.
