Scuba Tank + Fill Station

I'm looking to see who is interested in splitting on a system with me.
So far Jason and Nate seem interested, and anyone else who has HPA can fill for a small fee without buying in to the system. Prices will be comparable to Bob's CO2. We're not looking to cash in here, just get back our investment on the tank.
Jason: I hope you still have access to that Scuba tank. I think you said it was $65? Did you find out what the hydro date is?
Jon: can you get wholesale on this:
http://www.tacticalpaintball.ca/product ... ation.htmland this:
http://www.tacticalpaintball.ca/product ... nsion.html(I assume your wholesale account carries over to their sister site)
Total cost will be around $150-$175 after tax & shipping. Anyone who is interested please comment below.
I'm told you get 50-100 small fills per big fill depending on the size of the tank.

I would be willing to split the cost then after we get the money back, I will transfer my ownership of the equipment to you.
We can hammer out the details when we have concrete prices.

Yeah, the wholesale account works on all their sites.
For the first one you can just use the .95 formula:
http://www.tacticalpaintball.ca/product/Ninja_Deluxe_Scuba_Fill_Station.html$69.95 * .95 = $66.45
The second one is on sale so the formula kind of breaks down:
http://www.tacticalpaintball.ca/product/Ninja_Fill_Whip_Hose_Extension.htmlIt would actually be around $25

That $65 is gone. The cheapest I can find now is about $100 for a tank.

I will call my Scuba source tomorrow and let you know what I can find.
How many cubic feet is the $100 tank? What is the hydro date?

There's a couple of them on Kijiji. One is a 2009. I don't think they list either. I'll give 'em a shout.

My source has no used tanks right now, but will let me know when he does.
He does have new ones for $225. (with a free fill!)
Keep this in mind when looking for used tanks:
- $12 annual visual inspection required
- $50 hydro test every 5 years
- Most tanks have a 20 year life

I just made a deal for a 12 year old tank that still needs inspection and hydro for $90 with a backpack/handle attachment worth $55 new.
I will talk with people in person tomorrow, but the cost breakdown is as follows:
Tank: $90 (with carry backpack/handle)
Inspection & Hydro Test: $62
Fill Station: $66.45
Fill Whip: $25 (optional, but makes filling vests/harnesses a lot easier)
Total: $243.45
2 People: $121.73
3 People: $81.15
4 People: $60.86
5 People: $48.69
6 People: $40.58
7 People: $34.78
8 People: $30.43
Anyone who buys in to the system will only have to pay for their cut of the fill after outside people have paid for fills.
So for example if a fill is $8 and we have $5 in fill money, a 3 person split is $1 each.
As far as I know now Me, Nate, Jason, and Bob are in on this, and anyone else who joins will only bring down our costs.
I will manage transport, maintenance, and filling of the tank so all you have to do is pay me and get dirt cheap air.
For all those not buying into the system; if you truly do get 100 fills per tank, the cost to fill a small tank could be as low as $0.08.
A more reasonable estimate is 20 fills with a cost of $0.50 - $1 each with a little bit of maintenance margin included. Still beats $3-$5 fills at the store.

OK, so there are 6 people bought into the system, and I think I'd like to cap it there. Anyone else who wants air can pay for it per use once we figure out a fair price.
The final price for each of the 6 will be around $43 as I forgot about tax on the Inspection & Hydro. I will update again once I know how much it will be to fill your tank with HPA as an "outsider".

As per our earlier discussion, I'm in.

So the tank I made a deal for is actually 34 years old. WAY too old. You can't hydro anything made before 1989.
The search continues!

I just bought an 8 year old tank that still needs inspection and hydro.
The guy who sold it to me knows a place where they can hydro it for less.
The fill station should be in this week, and I will get the tank tested ASAP.
The breakdown is now:
Tank: $130
Inspection & Hydro Test: $45 (maybe less)
Fill Station: $66.45
Fill Whip: $25
Total: $266.45
Which brings the 6 person split to $44.41. I will speak with everyone once I have a solid price on the tests.
