If you don't own a copy of Team Fortress 2, it had just become free to play on Steam.

Check it out! Its a solid game.

Is it free for ever? Or just for a limited time. I wonder what their angle is with that.

Last year, for a month, you were able to add Portal to your list of steam games for free. Then after that month you had to pay ten bucks.

A couple of clicks right now and you've got it for sure.

I think it may be f2p for good now since they are moving towards item shop monetization. Plus the game came out over four years ago (I think?) so its possible that it will be f2p for the rest of its lifetime.

It was October 2007, so yeah almost 4 years. I wonder how much they make off the item shop.

Maybe this also means TF3 is on the way soon?

ya i've wanted it in my games list but don't know what was holding me back

If it's any consolation, I have pretty much all of their games since Half-Life 2 (aside from Portal 2and Left for Dead 2) still in the original packaging.
