I got a laptop from my Aunt (check Linux forum for specs)
I want to give it a custom paint job, since that's the only mod I can do under my budget.
I will post pics and updates when the process gets going.

i would use modle paint its made for plastic but if ya go to another messageboard that is dedicated to mods(gota ask the Jew for the URL i have no clue but he will know) and ask them they will tell ya other paints to use.
Apply the paint umm i would not use a brush for the fact that a brush leavs a texture on the surface and ya dont want that. Use spray you can get modle paint in small spray can. Use stencles to do disigns on it if ya want this is just a sudgestion im not telling you what to do or anything.
hope it all works out in the end.

thanx for suggestions
Jason? sites??
I want to put a custom designed letter X on the back of it, I have a concept drawing on it now in marker...
I too hope this works out real nice, since laptops are so hard to mod otherwise.

Don't use paint. Use vinyl dye. Instead of applying an outer layer on the object, in soaks into the pores of the plastic. Thus, scratches won't show the colour beneath like paint. Note that it is a more permanent solution (so choose your colour wisely and don't bugger up the application).

Yup. Wal-Mart. Go to the automotive section and look for a spray bomb called vinyl dye or seat paint.
