Notice of Internal Lockdown Drill

This notice was originally sent as a popup on MoCoMotion. In case you
have enabled your popup blocker, this message is repeated below.

As part of Mohawk College's ongoing efforts to make our campuses safe
for students and staff, we will be conducting a practice drill for our
Internal Lockdown procedure at Fennell campus on Tuesday November 13.

During the drill, please follow the actions listed on both the quick
reference card you were issued and on the MoCoMotion Emergency Response
web site. We recommend that you review this information now and carry
your reference card Tuesday so that you are prepared for this drill.

Additional copies of the quick reference card are available at the
front reception desk, Fennell lobby.

The drill will be preceded by a recorded announcement you will hear
advising you that the drill will begin in about 5 minutes. This message
will be repeated several times.
This will be followed shortly by the official Mohawk Security recorded
announcement that a lockdown is in place. This will be repeated several
times, and then will stop.
When you hear the recording that the lockdown is in place, please
follow the actions shown on the reference card.
If you can safely do so, leave public areas such as hallways, open
access computer labs, Library, Cafeterias etc.
If you can, go to a place of safety - anywhere you feel safe. This
could be a classroom, an office ? anywhere you can close a door, turn
off the lights, and be out of sight. When inside the place of safety
keep very quiet.
Turn off all cell phones; take attendance.
If you leave the building, be prepared to return when the drill is
completed
At the end of the drill, the official Mohawk Security "all clear"
recorded announcement will advise you to return to your normal
activities.

Yeah, this SOOOOOO makes me want to go to class tomorrow......god I hate stupid drills ><

......walking around with a paintball gun and ski mask might be fun tomorrow

Meh. Everyone's going to ignore it. Except for the piercing beeping, it'll be life like normal.

Heh, we had a fire alarm earlier during one of my Database classes and the teacher said we can just wait inside the class. 3minutes later, after watching almost all of the I-wing be evacuated, our teacher got it through his head that maybe we should go too....and then he says have fun and sits in his chair to read a book. College makes me sad sometimes.
