ok guys i have beating my head against the wall trying to figure this out
(keep in mind the desktop i use is in the *exact same setup* in terms of OS and browser)
here is the problem

OS: XP sp 2
broswer Firefox 1.07 (also tried 1.5)

problem: sporatic problems connecting to a select number of websites (for example hotmail, a few government sites etc)

what i have tried:
checked the cookie settings and they are identical to the desktop
checked the windows time its ok
checked the security settings... and in fact turned privacy and security settings down as low as they can go
tried uninstalling and reinstalling (and cleaning out the registry in between)
tried several different browsers (IE, Opera, Firefox etc)
tried different internet connections (wireless and wired, my home network and school and a few other wireless ones)

i cant seem to fix it... any suggestions?

What firewall are you using?

If you have PeerGuardian, is HTTP blocking on?

The only reason I thought of it was because it was doing the same thing to me about a month ago ;)
