Using Linux To Milk Cows

Now, I can see using Linux to make a milking system. However, the prototype was OS9? WHY!? The GUI point is null and void as this is a closed system. Just make up a GUI for milking and you're done. Who gives a sh!t if your milking system can run iTunes?
