I loved the original Sin (I picked up the game late enough that I missed out on all the bugs.......yay!) so I'm super pumped to see this new game. Here's an update from the developer:

Only thing that I see as a potential problem--only distributed through Steam. If that makes it cheaper, I'll deal with it. If it's still expensive--looks like it'll be another game I don't buy/use because of Steam (still haven't even installed HL2.........and what with FEAR coming, I might not even bother).

FEAR rules!
I agree on both counts

Lookin' good:

However, it's all gonna depend on price. For $10-$15, I'd probably get it.

Also, it looks like it won't be cheap, but it won't be expensive ($15 -$20 US). Quite frankly, it's offering enough gameplay and time that games are charging $50 CAN today. Plus, a new game every 6 months? Jason rikey

Sin delayed:

If it's delayed because Valve doesn't want it to hurt HL2:Aftermath sales, Newell's getting a broken light bulb shoved up his anus.

It doesnt really look all that good...
Im continually unimpressed by the source engine at every turn.

I'm buying for the interaction--it's what Ritual is known for. The original Sin didn't look as good as Half-life, but there was sooo much more you could do in the game. I'm hoping that remains true with this one. Chucking cr@p around with some uber gun that defies physics is "fun" and all, but I'd much rather have an interactive world.
And it's Levelord.........c'mon!

True, Im just inherently skeptical of anything released on the Source engine. Im sure what Ritual *wants* to do is innovative and immersive, but I've seen two games made with the Source engine, Vampire: Bloodlines and Half-Life 2, and both have been plagued by horrible bugs and crashes. Those by themselves wouldnt be a problem, but it really destroys the immersion of a game when the NPC's are running into a wall and the game crashes because of a memory leak. Or perhaps having to restart the game so that the textures are aligned properly. Or having to reset your computer so that the models arent flying all over the place... Yeah there was a few minor bugs...
That and I really dont like Episodic content. I dont want to pay $20 for 4 hours of play time. I payed way too much for 6 hours with Half-Life 2 and it still stings me a little bit.

$20 for 4 hours with jam-packed action or $60 for 4 hours of jam-packed action with 6 hours of filler.
Gimme episodic content any day

Hey Jason, is this going to be released in stores, in a box?

Yup. That's why I haven't preordered yet. If the HL2 expansion was any indication, it's cheaper to pre-order from Future Shop than to buy off of Steam ($15 CAD with box and CD from FS while $20 US with no box from Steam). So, maybe, they'll do that with this. Dunno. Thus, I wait.
