I think that he just described every FPS that came out in the last year... They were all boring and Uber-easy.

Nostalgia always makes the past seem better than the future. Sometimes it's warranted--sometimes not.

while that may be true (indeed it is) at least with doom 3 it falls out of the fps in my opinion and more into the horror/adventure realm... a similar category as Half life 2 (-horror) but some of the old games just were better depending on the game play one is looking for

He complains alot about the lack of headshots. I was under the impression this was a "feature" designed to make the game more realistic because zombies don't have brains...therefore shooting them in the head would not disable them faster than shooting them in the torso.
He seems to talk about it like it was an oversite.....

Throughout the entire article he talks about how id games used to have excellent Gameplay and whatnot.
Now, correct me if Im wrong, but hasnt the games id made in the past been first and foremost a tech-demo and secondly a game?
I think he was just bitter that he didnt get the game he wanted and now he's whining like the little bitch he is. I enjoyed Doom 3 for the game it is, and I have no complaints about it.
