Who wants to place bets on how long it is before he succumbs to some disease?

I place my bets on 2 years before he starts to go downhill. He's in his 70's..

Well. if they just get him to retire once he becomes feeble, there shouldn't be a problem.

This seems to be the accepted theory. A long living pope would have to fill JPII shoes (or so the public would most likely think). This one is, most likely, just a transitional pope.

Granted, the last "transitional" pope brought in the Vatican II so ya never know.

It's hard to tell from the photo's on the site, I think it might be the serious one though.
