well i just raised hell at the u today because the tech at the Toldo building was an idiot.
anyways i worked my way up the chain of command and found out the reason for technology and slow upgrades is because the IT department waits for feed back from the students

basically i talked to the director and he was saying that divx files and other things of the nature are not supported because there was no demand.
He also mentioned that there he had a budget for upgrades but had no student input. (the reason why they got front usb was because their distrubutor decided that was what we were getting)

so basically i was thinking about petitioning the U and getting a feedback link for the IT department put on the SIS website

What do you guys think?

I'd do it, if only to be a shit-disturber.

Will we be able to fire incompetant technicians through this system you are proposing?

ghost i would much rather have been dealing with you
the guy i was talking to didnt know what divx was, had no idea what a self extracting zip file was nor could he tell me what files I had permission to put on the computer

it was just rediculous! needless to say i lodged a few complaints today

Good, the IT staff needs to be fired en masse and then hired again after some competant freelancers have been hired to re-asses our bloody mess of a network.

Just suck up to the department head, get hired on, and run things how you want to.

Worked for me in the civil building. 8)
